Ermina Pitre:  Daily Clarion Progress (Opelousas), Friday, 12 January 1923:  Mrs. Martin Andrepont, Sr., one of the best known citizens of the Prairie Ronde section of St. Landry parish, died Thursday night at 10 o'clock, following illness of a few days.  She was 85 years and 5 months old, and while she had not been in good health since the time of her husband's death eight years ago, her death came as a shock to her many descendants.  Mrs. Andrepont was verily the grand mother of Prairie Ronde.  She was the mother of a large number of children and the grandmother of scores.  She was closely related with virtually every person in the western section of the first ward.  The children who survive are Albert, Emar, Eraste, Martin, Jr., Nestor and Mrs. Theogene Bertrand.  Funeral services were conducted at the Catholic church in this city, with interment in the local cemetery at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon.

Charles Pitre:  St. Landry Clarion (Opelousas), Saturday, 12 October 1912:  Charles Pitre dies after long illness - Chas. Pitre, connected intimately with farming and financial circles in this section, died on Monday last, aged 57 years, 10 months and 27 days.  His remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery in Opelousas Tuesday morning.  Mr. Pitre was a member of one of the prominent families of the parish.  He had many friends who mourn his demise.
