Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 12 January 1995:  Lawtell - Funeral services for Mr. Clifford Pitre, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Bridget Catholic Church here with burial in the church mausoleum.  The Rev. Austin Leger will conduct the services.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Lawtell, died at 4:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, in Opelousas General Hospital.  He was a retired farmer.  Survivors include: his wife, Lillian Darbonne Pitre of Lawtell; a son, Kermit Joseph Pitre of Lawtell; a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Juanita Faye) Tweedel of Church Point; a sister, Mrs. Vergie Bourgeois of Lawtell; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Visiting hours are from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Friday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the Old Sunset Hwy. in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 21 August 2005:  (photo) Funeral services for Mrs. Clifford Pitre, the former Lillian Darbonne, age 92 of Lawtell, were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell, with the interment in the church mausoleum.  Rev. Daniel Picard of St. Bridget will officiate.  Mrs. Pitre, a native of Mallett, died at 2:28 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at Senior Village Nursing Home.  She is survived by a son, Kermit Pitre and wife Shirley of Opelousas and a daughter, Juanita Pitre Tweedel and husband Keith of Lafayette; a brother Percy Darbonne and wife Maude of Lake Charles, LA; two sisters, Ivil Bertrand of Prairie Rhonde, LA and Gertrude 'Nu Nu' Johnson of Opelousas, LA.  She is also survived by ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her parents Lucien and Leonise Darbonne, her husband, Clifford Joseph Pitre, and two sisters, Waverly Darbonne Brewer and Mattie Darbonne Billeaudeau.  Visiting hours were observed from 2 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2005 until 9 p.m. and reopen at 8 a.m. on Saturday until the time of services.  A rosary was recited Friday night at 7 p.m.  Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Perry Hubbs will conduct the service.  Mr. Pitre, 73, went to meet the Lord, Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007.  He is survived by his wife, Shirley Savoie Pitre, of Opelousas; his sons, Theron Pitre and his wife, Terri, of Broussard, Derwin Pitre, of Lafayette, Shaun Pitre and his wife, Kristen, of Lafayette, and Gerard Pitre and his wife, Elena, of Jacksonville, Fla.; his sisters, Dawn Sylvester and her husband, Kim, of Prairie Rhonde, Cherise Lemelle and her husband, Kenneth, of Opelousas, Irice Pitre and her husband, Tony, of Opelousas, and Juanita Tweedel and her husband, Keith, of Lafayette.  He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Lillian Darbonne Pitre.  Visitation will be observed at the First Baptist Church in Opelousas Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service.  Lafond Ardoin Funeral Home in Opelousas is in charge of the arrangements.
