Obituary: Elhatton’s Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB): Mrs. Helene Pitre - Chamberlain Settlement - Mrs. Helene Pitre, 95, wife of the late Clarence J. Pitre, of Chamberlain Settlement, passed away on Sunday (March 5, 2006) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Lameque, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Malvina (Noel) Ross. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Clarence J. Pitre, in 2000. She was the last member of her immediate family. She is survived by: Three sons: Edward Pitre (Shirley) of Rough Waters, Laurier Pitre (Janet) of Moncton, Jean Claude Pitre, of Chamberlain Settlement; One daughter: Hilda Stolleker (Bruce) of Montreal, Que.; 17 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son, Michael, in 1976. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (March 8, 2006) at 10:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St. Burial will be in the Mount Carmel Cemetery, East Bathurst. Edward was very active in his community and Church. Besides he wife, Shirley (Chamberlain) Pitre, he is survived by: One daughter: Monique Pitre (Sean Gorman) of Toronto, ON; One grandson: Damian Gorman of Toronto, ON; Two brothers: Laurier Pitre of Petit-Rocher; Jean Claude of Chamberlain Settlement; One sister: Hilda Stolliker (Bruce) of Montreal, QC; Many nieces and nephews. Beloved wife of Mr. Bruce Stolliker. She will also be sadly missed by her children Garry (Shannon), Robert and Natasha (Joe), her grandchildren Nicole, Breanna, Ryan, Sophie and Lucas, her great grandson Noah as well as many relatives and friends. The family will receive condolences at Complexe Funeraire Guay, in Saint-Eustache, on Saturday, August 22, 2020 from 1 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held the same day at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Michel Pitre: The Times Transcript (Moncton, NB), Saturday, 9 October 1976: Bathurst - Two Chamberlain Settlement men were victims of a single car mishap which occurred early Friday morning on a Bathurst street. Dead are Michael Pitre, 32, and David Salesse, 23, both of whom were taken to Chaleur General Hospital following the incident. The Pitre vehicle went out of control on a turn on Harborview Boulevard just off Murray Avenue. The car rolled over and landed on the bank of Bathurst Harbor. The mishap occurred about 4:30 a.m. Bathurst City Police are continuing their investigation. Coroner Jerry Arseneau of Bathurst will rule on an inquest later. The joint funeral for the two victims will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and interment will follow in the parish cemetery. The bodies are resting at Elhatton's Funeral Home in Bathurst. Michael Pitre was born in Kingston, Ontario and was a former employee of Brunswick Mining and Smelting (Mining Division) in the Bathurst area. He is survived by his wife, the former Carole Derapp of Chamberlain Settlement; two sons, Tony and James and three daughters, Sylvie, Rebecca and Natalie, all at home; his parents, Clarence and Helen (Rosa) Pitre, Chamberlain Settlement; three brothers, Edward, Rough Waters, Jean Claude and Laurier, both of Chamberlain Settlement; and one sister, Mrs. Bruce Stolaker (Hilda), Laval, Que. (remainder is regarding David Salesse.)
