Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Monday, 28 February 1977: Clarence Joseph Pitre, a native of Houma and a resident of 1611 Division Ave., died Sunday, Feb. 27, 6:30 a.m., at Terrebonne General Hospital. He was 75 years old. He was retired from employment with the city of Houma. Visitation began this morning, 8 a.m., and continues until funeral time. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 10 a.m., at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the St. Francis No. 1 Cemetery. He was the husband of Julia Dumond Pitre. He is survived by one son, Louby Pitre of Houma; one adopted son, Albert Henry of Houma; one daughter, Mrs. Gustave (Rita) Hebert of Venice; three brothers, Lawrence and Horace Pitre of Houma, and Alvin Pitre of Marrero, nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Lucius Short, Mrs. Alvin Robichaux and Mrs. Simon Thibodaux. Arrangements by Chauvin Funeral Home.

Obituary: The Courier (Houma, LA), Sunday, 24 March 1996: (photo) Mrs. Julia Marie Dumont Pitre, 93, a native of Montegut and resident of Houma, died Friday, March 22, 1996 at 11:48 a.m. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday at the Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. and 8:30 a.m. until funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Burial will follow at St. Francis de Sales No. 1 Cemetery. She is survived by two sons, Albert J. Henry and Louby J. Pitre; a daughter, Mrs. Gustave (Rita Pitre) Hebert, all of Houma; two sisters, Lucille Salvaggio and Amanda "Mandy" Chauvin of New Orleans; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Joseph Pitre; parents, Theophile and Glovina Domingue Dumont; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two brothers, Alfred and Easton Dumont. She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Survivors include her husband, Gustave; her mother; Julia Dumond Pitre; one son, Wayne Anthony Hebert; one daughter, Mrs Roy (Kathleen) Naquin; one brother, Lubie Hebert and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Joseph Pitre. Chauvin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

He is survived by his son, Dennis P. Pitre and wife, Sherrel; two daughters, Patricia P. Hebert and husband, Charles T. Hebert, and Lisa P. Cano; four grandchildren, Carlos Cano and wife, Crystal, Corey Pitre, Brandon Pitre and Jhansi Castille; one great-grandson, Brayan P. Pitre; and extended family, Donna Rainey. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Brunet Pitre; parents, Clarence and Julie Dumont Pitre; son, Clarence Pitre; granddaughter, Melissa Cano; and sister, Rita Hebert.
