Obituary: Ottawa Citizen (Ottawa, ON), Monday, 4 November 1957: Claude Pitre, 161 Montford Street, Eastview, died Saturday in hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 61. A Royal Canadian Engineers veteran of the First World War, he was born in Brattleboro, New York, son of the late Napoleon Pitre and the former Rose Labelle. A plumber-contractor by trade, he retired a year ago. He lived in Eastview for the past four years and prior to that resided in Timmins and Hawkesbury. He married the former Gracia Boivin in 1922. He attended Notre Dame Du St. Esprit Church in Eastview and was a member of the Timmins council, Knights of Columbus. Left is his wife, two sons, Jean-Jacques of Ottawa and Fernand of Cornwall; three daughters, Mrs. Jean-Paul (Marcelle) Lepage of St. Rose de Lima, Mrs. Dunstan (Therese) Mullaly of Ottawa and Rev. Sister Ste. Francoise Cabrini (Francoise) of the Grey Nuns of the Cross, Ottawa; five brothers, Lucien of Chicago, Zenophille and Armand of Hawkesbury, Charles of Eastview and Adrien of Buckingham, Quebec; five sisters, Miss Leontine Pitre of Montreal, Rev. Marcelle Pitre: Madame Marcelle Pitre-Lepage, 1925-2011. She passed away 7 July 2011 at the age of 86 years. Daughter of the late Claude Pitre and the late Gracia Boivin, she was the wife of the late Jean-Paul Lepage. She is survived by her dear children: Robert, Paulette (Roger Lapointe), Rachelle (Marcel Charland), Denis (Monique Desormeaux) and Francine, as well as eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, of whom she was extremely proud. She also leaves two dear sisters, very, very present in Marcelle's life: Therese (Vince Mullaly) and Francoise (Al Wagstaff), two brothers-in-law Guy and Pierre Lepage, as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The religious service, in the presence of the ashes, will take place Saturday 10 September 2011 at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph church, St. Joseph (Hull sector). The family will receive condolences at the church starting at 10:15 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. The family sends sincere thank-yous to the personnel of Brunet Home for all the attention, and good care provided to Marcelle as well as the hemodialysis team at CSSSG (Hull sector). Thanks also to Doctor Chantal Laquerre, Dr. Daničle Marceau, Francis Reid, CLSC-Hull social worker, Celine DuPaul, CLSC occupational therapist, the emergency team (Hull sector), especially during the week of July 4, 2011, the CLSC home care attendants, the STO drivers for the quality of their interventions. ‘Fern’ Pitre. Of Cornwall, on May 26, 2004, at the age of
seventy-seven years, passed away peacefully at Elizabeth Bruyere Centre, Ottawa.
Fern is survived by sons John, Michael and David. Sisters
Marcelle Lepage (Paul, deceased), Terry Mullally (Vince) and Fran Wagstaff,
along with a host of other relatives and many friends. Fern was
predeceased by his wife, Ann Reimert and his special daughter Cynthia.
A retired United Westburne executive (Montreal), Fern enjoyed his retirement as
an avid golfer and curler, while always imbued with joie de vivre.
Typically, Fern never complained throughout his illness, referring only to
‘stormy weather ahead.’ The storm has now passed. May you find
everlasting peace, Dear Fern. Cremation has taken place. Friends are
invited to a funeral mass and reception at Paroisse St. Charles, Vanier, ON, at
10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 2, 2004. Private internment to follow at
Notre-Dame Cemetery, Ottawa. No flowers please. Donations in memory
of Fern to your favourite charity or the Canadian Cancer Society would be

Fran Wagstaff, loving wife of Alfred, will be dearly missed by her sister, Therese Mullally; many nieces and nephews; Alfred's children (Barbara and Grant); Craig's family; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her many friends. Fran was very active in her community including the Telephone Visiting Ministry and her parish, where she generously donated her time and talent.
