Obituary:  Lake Charles American Press (LA), Wednesday, 20 September 1961:  Jeff Davis Parish Clerk of Court dies - Jennings - Charles A. Pitre, 54, Jeff Davis parish clerk of court since May, 1940, died suddenly at 11 a.m. today at the Jennings American Legion hospital following a heart attack.  Mr. Pitre had worked in the clerk of court office for several years prior to succeeding his father in the post.  He was a native of Jennings.  The body is at Segura funeral home, where date and time of Catholic services will be announced.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Evelyn Poole Pitre, his mother, Mrs. Zelmire Pitre, both of Jennings; one son, Charles Alfred Pitre Jr., of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Janice Elaine Pitre, a student at LSU; one brother, J.W. (Bud) Pitre, assistant Jeff Davis clerk of court and four sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Pat) Patterson of Baton Rouge, Mrs. J.P. Davidson of Welsh, Mrs. Raymond Nelson of Sulphur and Mrs. George Conner of Houston, Tex.

Obituary:  Lake Charles American Press (LA):  Jennings - Funeral services for Evelyn P. Crow, 91, will be at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 2, in Matthews and Son Funeral Home.  The Rev. T.L. Herlong will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  Visitation is from noon.  A rosary was recited Friday evening.  Mrs. Crow died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in a Santa Fe, N.M. hospital.  She was a native of Roanoke.  She lived in Jennings before moving to Santa Fe.  Survivors include one son, Charles A. Pitre of Santa Fe; one daughter, Janis Pitre of Santa Fe; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Charles Alfred Pitre:   The Santa Fe New Mexican (NM), Friday, 12 December 2014:  Charles Alfred Pitre, 80, of Santa Fe, NM died peacefully on Thursday, December 4, 2014.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Evelyn Pitre Crow and Charles Alfred Pitre Sr.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra McPhillips Pitre of Santa Fe, NM; son and daughter-in-law David Ferrell Pitre and Kathleen Ann Kraemer of Austin TX; grandchildren: Zachary David, Julia Claire, Henry David; daughter and son-in-law Lenwood Pitre Anthon and Michael Lawrence Anthon of St. Louis MO; grandchildren: Patrick Michael, Charles Dixon, Andrew Joseph, Michael Flynn; sister, Janis Elain Pitre and her partner Karolyn Wayman.  He was born in Jennings, LA. , attended LSU, and was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.  He served in the Army in Orleans, France, and received a BA from the University of the Americas in Mexico City.  He was the owner of Dutch Mill Flowers in Richardson, TX for 30 years, a resident of Santa Fe, and an active member of St. Bede's Episcopal Church.  He was an accomplished artist with works in Mexico City, New Mexico, and Texas.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at St. Bede's Episcopal Church 1601 S. St. Francis Drive at 2:00 p.m.  Reception following the service at St. Bede's Episcopal Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Bede's Episcopal Church.  Rivera Family Funerals and Cremations 417 East Rodeo Rd.
