Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), 20 July 2005:  Bertman R. Pitre, 80, a native and resident of Cut Off, died at 5:13 a.m. July 19, 2005.  Visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery.  He is survived by his second wife, Emily Guidry Pitre; first wife, Romanda S. Pitre; son, Terry Pitre; stepsons, Fred Jr. and Thomas Pitre; stepdaughters, Katie Verret, Elaine Duet, Louise Pitre and Emily Pitre; sisters, Verilna Gisclair, Janet Lafont and Mabel Galjour; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren; and 17 step-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Alzina Danos Pitre; brothers, Hayman Pitre and Harold "T-Brown" Plaisance; and sister, Clara Vegas.  He was a disabled veteran of World War II.  He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and a former member of the Lions club.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and making people laugh.  Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Baton Rouge passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at the age of 86.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Terry Pitre and wife Jackie; granddaughter, Sheri P. Cheramie (Rod); grandson, Jason Pitre (Brandy); sister, Rosa Savoie; brother, Gregory Serigny; great-grandsons, Kobi Pitre (Lauren), Caz Pitre (Brieana), Max Cheramie (Kelly), Brook Cheramie (Melody); great-granddaughter, Hannah Pitre; great-great-grandchildren, Noelle Pitre, Aria, and Landon Cheramie.  She was preceded in death by her former husband and father of her son, Bertman Pitre; parents, Joseph & Maggie Serigny; siblings, Godlyn Serigny, Howard Serigny, Lorita Picciola, Joseph Serigny, Peggy Doucet, Katherine Serigny, and Abraham Smith.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in her honor on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off at 12:00 p.m.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.  Raceland.

Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006.  Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Samart Funeral Home in Cut Off.  Mass will be at noon Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano, with burial in the church cemetery.  She is survived by two sons, Alfred and Thomas Pitre; four daughters, Katie Verrett, Louise Pitre, Elaine Duet and Emily Pitre; one brother, Albert Guidry; two sisters, Phyllis Guidry and Sybil Walden; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alfred Pitre; her second husband, Bertman Pitre; her parents, Asay Desire Guidry and Marie Louise Aycock Guidry; two brothers, Ronald and Donald Guidry; and two sisters, Marie Guidry and Doris Delosia.  She was Catholic.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
