Obituary: Holland Evening Sentinel (MI), Saturday, 11 September 1965: Muskegon - Bernard Kenneth Pitre, 51, 2586 Vig Dr., Fruitport, died this morning in the Muskegon Osteopathic Hospital following a five weeks illness. He was employed at the Noreen Pattern and Foundry Co., in Fruitport. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. His wife, the former Lillian Mandelker, died in 1957. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carl Squires and Mrs. Roger Christinson and his mother, Mrs. Henry Pitre, all of Fruitport; two sisters, Mrs. Carl McAllister of Fruitport and Mrs. John Sterkenberg of Twin Lakes; three brothers, Morgan Pitre of Fruitport, John Parker of Grand Haven and Louis Parker of Harvey, Ill.; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Van Zantwick Funeral Chapel in Grand Haven with Donald Miles officiating. Burial will be in Lake Forest cemetery with military rites under the auspices of Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post No. 326 of the VFW.
