Obituary:  The New Orleans Advocate (LA), Friday, 28 June 2024:  Adam (Pete) Willie Pitre of LaPlace, passed away Friday, June 21, 2024, at the age of 91.  Pete was married for 62 years to the love of his life, the late Theresa Rodi Pitre.  They shared two children, Curt (Denise) and the late Michael.  The youngest of 11 children, Pete was born in Cutoff to Willie and Josephine (Thibodeaux) Pitre.  The family moved to LaPlace shortly after Pete's birth.  He is preceded in death by his siblings Agnes Oubre, Argentine Bruce, Beatrice Danos, Annie Guidroz, Inez Cortez Lagarbo, Anna Prestenback, Edwin, Helen Boudreaux, Cleveland (Lucky), and Theresa.   Pete retired from Shell Oil in Norco in 1991.  He was a hard worker who took odd jobs to help support his family, including brick making, okra picking, and working at the Godchaux sugar refinery during the grinding season.  He grew vegetables in his garden, made wood crafts in his workshop, made muscadine wine, enjoyed Cajun music and dancing, and was a great coonass storyteller.  Pete is also survived by numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members.  Pete's family extends a special thanks to Metropolitan Dialysis Center and Eagan Home Health Care for the excellent care given to Pete.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass at St Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, Louisiana.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m.  Interment at St John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace, LA.

Obituary:  The New Orleans Advocate (LA), Wednesday, 28 November 2018:  Theresa Ann Rodi Pitre passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on November 26, 2018 at the age of 84.  She was a native of Buras, LA and a longtime resident of LaPlace, LA.  She was known for always smiling and filling the room with joy and laughter.  She was also a giving person who loved to make homemade bread, boiled pudding, and brownies just to name a few of the things that she loved to share with others.  She was an excellent cook known for her meatloaf and red bean soup and her award winning bread pudding.  Beloved wife of 61 years to Adam “Pete” Pitre.  Loving mother of Curt D. Pitre and his wife Denise and the late Michael Anthony Pitre.  Daughter of the late Sidney and Rose Rodi.  Sister of Louise Laviolette and her husband Raymond, and the late Nelson Rodi, Deyone Bartholomew.  Also survived by her family and friend, Leatrice and Youriel Dennis.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and many friends.  The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers at Chateau St. James, St. Catherine’s Hospice, and to Dr. Glen Kelley at EJGH, ICU and stepdown unit staff at Ochsner Main Campus and Molly Brouillette, speech therapist at Ochsner for their support and care of our Theresa.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, December 1, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  The Funeral Mass will follow at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace at 11:30 a.m.  Interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Interment in St. John Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Michael Anthony Pitre:  L'Observateur (La Place, LA), Monday, 24 April 2017:  Michael Anthony Pitre, a native of LaPlace, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017 at the age of 57.  He is survived by his mother, Theresa R. Pitre; his father, Adam W. Pitre; his brother, Curt D. Pitre; sister-in-law Denise K Pitre; aunt Louise Laviolette; and uncle Raymond Laviolette.  He is also survived by many, many cousins and his close friends, Geordi and Brenda Cortez.  The family invites you to join them as they gather to Remember his Life Thursday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Norco.  A private burial will take place at a later date.
