- Greenfield Daily Recorder (Greenfield, MA), Tuesday, 28 June 1927: Worcester, June 28 - Alfred T. Pitre, of Greenfield is being sued for a divorce by his wife, Mrs. Isabelle M. Pitre of Fitchburg, according to action started in the Worcester county probate court here. The wife charges her husband with cruel treatment and neglect to support. They have no children. Mr. and Mrs. Pitre were married at Albany, N.Y., on May 12, 1921.
- Greenfield Daily Recorder (Greenfield, MA), Thursday, 15 December 1927: Worcester, Dec. 16 - Alfred T. Pitre of Greenfield threw his wife, Mrs. Isabelle M. Pitre of Fitchburgh, down a flight of stairs on two different occasions, according to her testimony in the Worcester County probate court yesterday at a hearing on her libel for divorce. Judge Harry H. Atwood indicated that he would sign the decree. Mrs. Pitre also told the court that the Greenfield man once struck her on the legs with a wrench and that he had been cruel in other ways. She said that her health had been affected by such treatment and that she went South for three months upon the advice of a physician who was attending her. Many times her husband left her, Mrs. Pitre testified. Mr. and Mrs. Pitre were married at Albany, N.Y., on May 12, 1921. She seeks also to be permitted to resume her maiden name, Isabelle Moore.
Obituary: Fitchburg Sentinel, Tuesday, 22 February 1949: The funeral of Alfred T. Pitre, 304 Wanoosnoc road, was held this morning from the Aubuchon funeral parlors with a solemn high mass of requiem at 9 o’clock in St. Francis’ church. Rev. Arthur Gravel was the celebrant, Rev. Roland J. Ally was deacon and Rev. Raymond L. Hebert of the Immauculate Conception church was sub-deacon. The choir was under the direction of Miss Marguerite Benoit. A large congregation attended the mass including delegations from the American Legion and employees of the Simonds Saw & Steel Co. Burial was in St. Joseph’s cemetery where prayers were said by Rev. Fr. Ally. The bearers, all members of Fitchburg post, American Legion, were George Callahan, Lester R. Kimball, William F. Murray, Henry J. Donlon, Roscoe H. Lyons and Daniel B. O’Connor.
Obituary: Worcester Telegram (Worcester, MA), Monday, 21 February 1949: Fitchburg, Monday - Alfred T. Pitre, 60, of 304 Wanoosnoc road, a foreman at Simonds Saw & Steel Co., died yesterday morning at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester. A World War I veteran, he lived in Fitchburg 35 years and was a member of the American Legion and St. Francis Parish. He leaves his father, Alphonse Pitre of Fitchburg; two brothers, Omer and Herve, both of Fitchburg; and three sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hopkins of Fitchburg, Mrs. Chevalier Pitre of St. Philomena, Can., and Mrs. Arthur Landry of Fitchburg. The funeral will be from the Aubuchon Funeral Home Tuesday morning with a solemn high mass of requiem in St. Francis Church at 9. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 today.
Misc.: Fitchburg Sentinel, Thursday, 10 March 1949: Probate Court - Worcester, March 10 - The will of Alfred T. Pitre of Fitchburg, who died Feb. 20, was filed in probate court here today and named his brother, Omer Pitre of Fitchburg, executor, leaving the residue of his estate to the brother and five other relatives. They are, the father, Alphonse Pitre, also of Fitchburg; two Fitchburg sisters, Grace Hopkins and Christine Landry; another sister, Belma Pitre of St. Philomene, Can., and another brother, Herve Pitre, who also resides in Fitchburg. A sister-in-law, Anita Pierce, wife of Omer, was willed two lots of land on Whalom road, Lunenburg, and Mrs. Hopkins received personal effects. The will was signed Feb. 7, or 13 days prior to Mr. Pitre's death.
