MISC: The Attleboro Sun (Attleboro, MA), 13 May 1952: Benjamin LaPete who gave his address as the Wrentham State school, was arraigned in district court today on charges of disturbance of the peace and causing injury to a building in North Attleboro. State Trooper Walter Driscol arrested him. LaPete pleaded innocent today and hearing was set for May 19. A Smith st. woman is complainant under a warrant which the state officer served for Chief McKeon. She alleges LaPete broke some windows at her home while he was an unwanted visitor. [Found guilty, sentence suspended with probation.]
- The Attleboro Sun (Attleboro, MA), 20 January 1953: North Attleboro - Two local residents, one a 60-year-old man and the other a 44-year-old woman, were arrested on morals charges by police early this morning as the result of investigation at the home of the woman. They were Benjamin E. LaPete of 44 Elm st. and Mrs. Inez E. Rowe of Smith st. Both were charged with being lewd and lascivious in speech and behavior and were locked up. Arraigned before Judge McGivney today LaPete admitted guilt to breaking the morals laws by his behavior and was ordered to serve a six months jail term, His record of a year ago was considered. Inez Rowe pleaded innocent and her case was continued for final hearing and disposition on next Nov. 26. She was placed under $200 surety with the probation officer. Police said they found the couple at the home of the woman, when they were admitted at 12:20 this morning after receiving a complaint from a nearby resident. The arresting officers were Inspector LeRoy V. Gordon and Patrolmen John J. McCarthy and Leo Desautel. They said they went into the Smith st. house and found LaPete in one room and Mrs. Rowe in an adjoining room. Police said Mrs. Rowe, an attendant at the Wrentham State school admitted Lapete had been staying at her house but declared it was by permission of her husband, who is employed out of town.

Obituary: Hardwick Gazette (Hardwick, VT), Thursday, 5 May 1966: Ethel L. Lapete, who has been a patient at the Greensboro Nursing Home for the past two years died at the Hardwick Hospital on May 1. Mrs. Lapete was born September 23, 1877, the daughter of Alphus and Laura H. Bassett. She leaves two sisters, Mrs. Iris H. Collier and Mrs. Jeanette P. Hanson. Burial was in the Greensboro Village Cemetery.
