Obituary:  Monroe News Star (LA), Tuesday, 7 September 1976:  Quitman - Funeral services for Aaron (Pete) Pitre, 62, of Rt. 1, Quitman, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Buck Edmonds Funeral Home Chapel in Jonesboro with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating.  Mr. Pitre died Monday at his residence in Quitman after a sudden illness.  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Maude Pitre of Quitman; one son, Jimmy Pitre of Natchitoches; three daughters, Mrs. Joan Jones of Alexandria, Mrs. Barbara Johnson of Quitman and Mrs. Patsy Stewart of Baton Rouge; one brother, Waven Pitre of Opelousas; three sisters, Mrs. Leo Belle Ortego of Lake Charles, Mrs. Lolita Lavergne of St. Martinville and Mrs. Vivian Lyons of Church Point and eight grandchildren.

Obituary:  The Shreveport Journal (Shreveport, LA), Friday, 17 March 1978:  Jonesboro - Maude Miles Pitre, 63, of Quitman died Wednesday in a Ruston hospital following a lengthy illness.  Funeral services were today in the Edmonds Funeral Home with the Revs. Paul Johnson and Durwood Miles officiating.  Burial was in the Fellowship Cemetery near Quitman.  Mrs. Pitre is survived by one son, Jimmy Pitre of Natchitoches; three daughters, Jo Ann Jones of Alexandria, Barbara Johnson of Quitman, and Patsy Stewart of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Floyd Miles of Quitman and Clyde Miles of Dodson; three sisters, Mrs. Til McBride of Jonesboro, Helen Lockhart of Monroe, and Lucille Strozier of Ruston; and nine grandchildren.
