Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 10 March 1966:  Alcide Pitre, 77, a retired carpenter of 809 W. South St., died at 6:50 a.m. today at a Lafayette Hospital.  He had been ill 18 months.  Pitre's body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial will be in Myrtle Grove Cemetery.  He is survived by his widow, the former Anise Vige of Opelousas; five daughters, Mrs. Eraste Pitre and Mrs. Oriel Ryder, both of Oberlin, Mrs. Lawrence Forestier and Miss Ruby Pitre, both of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Lawrence Trahan of Crowley.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren.

- Lake Charles American Press (LA), Friday, 11 March 1966:  Opelousas - Funeral services for Alcide Pitre, 77, father of Mrs. Lawrence Forestier and Ruby Pitre, both of Lake Charles, were to be at 2 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial was to be in Myrtle Grove Cemetery under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Mr. Pitre died at 6:50 a.m. Thursday in a Lafayette hospital.  He was a retired carpenter.  Other survivors are his wife; three other daughters; Mrs. Lawrence Trahan of Crowley, and Mrs. Eraste Pitre and Mrs. Oriel Ryder, both of Oberlin; and 10 grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 14 February 1979:  Last rites will be held for Mrs. Alcide Pitre, 87, of Opelousas Thursday with time pending in the Calvary Baptist Church here.  She was the former Ananse Vige, who died at 5:30 a.m. today after a long illness.  Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on N. Main St. of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements with burial in the Myrtle Grove Cemetery.  She was preceded in death by one son, Ike Dupre.  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marie Darbonne of Opelousas; one brother, Jerome Vige of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Aline LaJack and Mrs. Clement (Felicia) Guidroz, both of Opelousas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Marie Pearl Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 30 November 1995:  Oberlin - Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Pitre, 87, of Oberlin were held Nov. 28 in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  The Rec. Phong Bui officiated.  Burial was in Oberlin Cemetery.  Mrs. Pitre died Sunday, Nov. 26, 1995 in Oakdale's hospital.  She was a native and life long resident of Oberlin.  Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Pitre, Mrs. Minnie Fontenot, both of Oberlin, and Mrs. Eva Trahan of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Joseph "Moochie" Manuel, Bennie Manuel, Mrs. Tessie Fontenot, Mrs. Bonita Pitre, and Joseph Pitre, all of Oberlin; and five great-grandchildren.

Amy Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 28 April 1983:  Funeral services for Mrs. Amy P. Rider, 72, of Oberlin, were held at 3 PM Saturday, April 23, 1983, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fred Russi, pastor, officiating.  Burial followed in the Oberlin Mausoleum under direction of Ardoin's Funeral Home of Kinder.  Rider died at 8 AM Friday, April 22, 1983, at the Savoy Memorial Hospital in Mamou.  She was a native of Oberlin.  Survivors include: one son, John Woodrow Rider of Oberlin; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Virgie Rider of Oberlin; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Pitre and Mrs. Ruby Pitre, both of Oberlin, and Mrs. Minnie Forester and Mrs. Eva Trahan, both of Lake Charles; 3 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Eva Pitre:  American Press (Lake Charles, LA), 6 March 2004:  Eva Trahan, 88, died at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2004, in a local care facility.  Ms. Trahan was a native of Oberlin and had lived in Crowley most of her life before moving to Lake Charles 35 years ago.  She attended the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception.  Survivors include one son, Louis Trahan of Jennings; one daughter, Pam LaCombe of Hayes; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, March 6, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. Alan Trouille will officiate.  Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. today in Oberlin Cemetery.  Deacon Norris Chapman will officiate.  Visitation is from 8 a.m. today.

Ruby Katherine Pitre:  The Kinder Courier News (Kinder, LA), Thursday, 7 August 2003:  Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Pitre, 84, were held Aug. 1, 2003 in Ardoin Funeral Home of Oberlin.  She died July 31.  Deacon Norris Chapman officiated the service.  Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery.

- American Press (Lake Charles, LA), 1 August 1 2003: Oberlin - Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Pitre, 84, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003, in Ardoin Funeral Home of Oberlin.  Deacon Norris Chapman will officiate.  Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery.  Visitation continues today.  A rosary was recited Thursday.  Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Pat Granger of Oberlin; one sister, Eva Trahan of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Noonie) Burrell, Mr. and Mrs. Bartet (Sarella) Darbonne and Mr. and Mrs. Dorman (Darlene) Lowe; eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Joshua, Eric, Trista, Justin, Camy and Rick; and five great-great-grandchildren, Terik, Gabby, Tanner, Miky and Abby.  She was preceded in death by grandson Bud Granger.
