Obituary:  Le Nouvelliste (QUE), Thursday, 16 March 1972:  Pitre, Mrs. Amanda - At Montreal, March 14, 1972, passed away at the age of 93 years and 3 months, Mrs. Amanda Pitre nee Amanda Goulet.  The funeral will take place Friday, 17 March, at Sainte Famille Church of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, at 10 a.m.  The mortal remains are displayed at the J.-D. Garneau house, Cap-de-la-Madeleine.  She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law: John, of Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Pitre, of Toronto, Mrs. Albert Pitre, of Cap-de-la-Madeleine; daughters: Lina, wife of Andre Cote, and Miss Delia, of Montreal, also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Jean (John).  At the St. Joseph Hospital Center in Trois Rivieres, on October 8, 1985, passed away at the age of 91 years, 7 months, M. Jean (John) Pitre, husband of the late Monique Roy, residing at Cap-de-la-Madeleine.  The funeral will take place Friday, 11 October, at Ste. Famille Church at 1:30 p.m.  The deceased will not be on display.  The family will go to the church 30 minutes before the ceremony to welcome relatives and friends.  He is survived by his daughter: Mrs. Charles St-Arneault (Leona); his son, John E. Pitre, husband of Helene Boissonneault; grandchildren: Michel Bordeleau, Jean-Guy Bordeleau husband of Francine Ringuette, Stephane and Caroline Pitre, also several nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.  Sincere thanks to the staff of St. Joseph Hospital for their excellent care.
