Obituaries for the children:

Blanche Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home (Bathurst, NB), It is with profound sadness that the children of Blanche Roy of Moncton NB and formerly of Bathurst, announce her death after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton.  She was the daughter of the late Alec and Mina Pitre.  She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Sr and son Gary.  She is survived by her sons Maurice Jr (Kim), Steven (Sheri) of Moncton, daughter Susan Dube (Keith) of Fredericton and her grandchildren Tyler, Tyson, Daniel and Christopher.  Leaving behind sisters Evelyn (Pitre), Adeline (Legacy), Delphina (Boucher), Velma (Lavigne), Doris (Godin), Maria (Pelletier), her brother Delphis and her twin sister Corrine (Bizeau).  There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 29th at 11 a.m. from Holy Family Church, Bathurst with a reception to follow in the Church basement.  She will be remembered as a loving mother and very proud grandmother who always put her children and grandchildren before herself.  She will be sincerely missed. The family would appreciate donations toward pancreatic cancer research.  Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home, Bathurst.

 

Velma Pitre:  Elhatton's Funeral Home:  Bathurst- Velma Lavigne, wife of Vaughan Lavigne of Raymond Ave., passed away Saturday, October 29th, 2022 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital at the age of 81.  Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Anna (Gauthier) Pitre.  Besides her husband, she is survived by five children: Perry Lavigne of Montreal, QC, Julie Lavigne Bujold (Laurent) of Dalhousie, twin sons; Rickie Lavigne and Dickie Lavigne (Karen) both of Bathurst and Pamela Lavigne (Alex Jerome) of Maria, QC.  Nine grandchildren: Melany, Dominique, Jeffrey, Shawn, Brandon, Jordan, Megan, Ryan and Anthony.  Two great-grandchildren: Bhodi and Olivia.  Two step-grandchildren: Madeleine and Dominic.  Two step-great-grandchildren: Mila and River.  One brother, Delphis Pitre (Yvonne) of South Tetagouche and five sisters: Corrine Bizeau (John) of Saint John, Delphine Boucher of New Richmond, QC, Adeline “Bébé” Legacy and Doris Godin (Laurent) both of South Tetagouche, Maria Pelletier (Daniel) of Robertville.  Several nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters: Blanche and Evelyn.  Velma was a proud member of the Dusty Sneakers group.  There will be no visitation at the funeral home.  Funeral service will be held Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 3 p.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Donations in memory of Velma may be made to the Lung Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
