MISC:  Charlottetown Guardian (PEI), 15 July 1966:  (photo of the couple)  Mr. and Mrs. Albert Peters of Alberton South celebrated the fifty-fifth anniversary of their marriage last Saturday.  Mr. Peters of Fortune Cove and the former Alice DesRoches of Duvar Road were married July 9, 1911 at St. Anthony's Church in Bloomfield.  The marriage was solemnized by Rev. F. X. Gallant.  The bride was attended by Rose Peters, sister of the groom, and Joseph Gallant was best man.  Mr. and Mrs. Peters lived on their farm at Fortune Cove until about six years ago when they came to Alberton.  Because of illness resulting in physical handicaps, Mr. Peters has been unable to work for the past fifteen years.  Their family includes a son, Gerald (Jerry) of Summerside, three daughters, Mrs. Henry Myers (Phoebe) of Alberton, Mrs. Claude Barnett (Lucy) of Alberton, and Mrs. Joseph MacPhee (Helen) of Tignish, and a foster son, Keith Peters of Alberton.  There are ten great-grandchildren.

Ursule Anne 'Lucy' Pitre:  Rooneys Funeral Home (Alberton, PEI):  Lucy Lillian Barnett, 1920 - 2021: The death occurred peacefully at the Margaret Stewart Ellis Home, O'Leary, on Friday, August 6, 2021, with her loving family by her side, of Lucy Lillian Barnett of Alberton, in her 101st year.  Beloved wife of the late Claude David Barnett.  Born at Fortune Cove, PEI, on August 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Alice (nee DesRoches) Peters.  Loving mother to Wanda (late Leo) Fennessey of Tignish, Ferdie (late Beulah) Barnett of Brantford, ON, Dolores (Barry) Gallant of North Rustico, Joyce (late Percey) Arsenault of Charlottetown, Arthur (late Yvonne) Barnett of Alberton, Claudia (Leonard) Rayner of Kildare, Elizabeth (deceased), and Aaron (Tiffany) Barnett of Charlottetown.  She will be sadly missed by her 20 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.  Dear sister to Keith (Evoila) Peters of Alberton.  She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and friends.  She was predeceased by sisters, Phoebe Myers and Helen MacPhee and brother, Jerry Peters.  Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home and Chapel, Alberton, for a visitation Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. (by invitation only).  Funeral Mass Wednesday morning, August 11, 2021, from the Sacred Heart Church, Alberton, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. (by invitation only), Rev. Brendon Gallant, Celebrant.  Interment in the Church cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund would be gratefully appreciated.

 

Helen Pitre:  Rooney Funeral Home (PEI):  At the Maplewood Manor Alberton on Friday, January 1, 2010 of Helen Mary McPhee of the Maplewood Manor, Alberton and formerly of Tignish, age 88 years.  Beloved wife of the late Joseph McPhee.  Dear mother to Roger McPhee of Edmonton, Alberta, and grandmother to Lairs and Barry McPhee.  Born on December 11, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (nee DesRoches) Peters.  She is survived by a sister Lucy (late Claude) Barnett and Keith (Evoila) Peters of Alberton.  She is also survived by a sister-in-law Aveline Peters of O'Leary.  She was predeceased by a brother Jerry Peters and by a sister Phoebe (late Henry) Myers.  She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.  Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton.  Funeral on Monday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.  Interment later in the church cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Maplewood Manor would be gratefully appreciated.  Visiting hours Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
