Death Notice:  Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Monday, 2 December 1940:  Killed on Running Board - Houma, La., Dec. 1 - Andrew Pitre, 23, a bridge tender at Daigleville, was killed last night when he was sideswiped by a car while riding on the running board of another automobile.

Shirley Mae Pitre:  The Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), 23 May 2012:  Lafayette - Funeral Services will be held at a 1:00 pm Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at St. Anne Church for Shirley Mae Pitre Touchet, 74, who passed away on May 22, 2012 at 7:44 am at Regional Medical Center.  Reverend Thomas Jason Mouton, Pastor of St. Anne Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.  Interment will take place in Broussard Family Cemetery.  Ms. Touchet, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Andrew Pitre and the former Gladys Dupre both of Houma, Louisiana.  She is survived by four daughters; Laura Marcantel and husband Craig of Lafayette, LA, Lois Ann Lavergne and husband Randy of Breaux Bridge, LA, Hazel Marie Comeaux and husband Allen, Sr. of Carencro, LA and Linda Ann Hunt and husband Tony of Breaux Bridge, LA; three sons, Ronald Louis Touchet and wife Tina of Lafayette, LA, Rodney Joseph Touchet and wife Mary of Port Arthur, TX and Edmond Paul Martin and wife Angela of Lafayette, LA; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Andrew Pitre, Jr. of Albany, GA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clerfy Louis Touchet, Sr. and two sons, Russell James Touchet and Clerfy Louis Touchet, Jr. and one sister, Mary Ann Hatch.  The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm.  A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  Visitation will continue on Thursday 8:00 am until the time of service.  Pallbearers will be Ronald Touchet, Paul Martin, Rodney Touchet, Craig Marcantel, Jeremy Lavergne, Allen Comeaux, Jr., and August Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Comeaux, Ali Hojati, Tony hunt, Allen Comeaux, Sr., Randy Lavergne, Michael Leblanc and Abdol Hojati.  Delhomme Funeral Home, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
