Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 22 May 1962:  Final rites were held at 9 a.m. to day for Alfred Pitre, 72, of 138 N. Bullard ave., who died at 5:26 a.m. Monday at Opelousas General Hospital.  Services were held at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.  Burial was in Sacred Heart Catholic cemetery in Prairie Ronde under direction of Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Pitre was a native of Prairie Ronde and a resident of Opelousas for 17 years.  He was a retired farmer.  He is survived by his wife, the former Gabrielle Dupre of Opelousas; one son, Davis Pitre of Prairie Ronde; and one daughter, Mrs. Eural Bihm of Lawtell.  Other survivors are five brothers, Eddie, Theodore and Moise Pitre all of Opelousas, Odelian and Odeah Pitre both of Prairie Ronde; two sisters, Mrs. Dewey Dupre and Mrs. Amos Reed of Opelousas; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Tuesday, 22 January 1974:  Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. today in the Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Opelousas for Mrs. Alfred Pitre, 77, the former Gabriel Dupre, who died Monday at 2:30 p.m.  Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde under the direction of Lafond and Son.  She is survived by one son, David Pitre of Prairie Ronde; one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Bihm of Lawtell, one brother, Lee Dupre of Ville Platte; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Gladys Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 17 June 2007:  Gladys Pitre Bihm Moreau (photo) Lawtell - Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Moreau, 93, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Bridget Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in the St. Bridget Cemetery in Lawtell.  The Rev. Dan Picard will conduct the Mass.  Mrs. Moreau was a native of Prairie Ronde and a long-time resident of Lawtell.  She died at 9:26 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2007, at Doctor's Hospital of Opelousas.  She was a homemaker and the co-owner of Bihm's Grocery in Lawtell.  She was also a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell.  Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Mary S. Bihm, of Lawtell; two grandchildren, Janice Bihm Martin and Elbon Bihm Jr., both of Lawtell; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.  Mrs. Gladys was preceded in death by her first husband, Eural Bihm; her second husband, Lorris Moreau; her son, Elbon Bihm Sr.; her parents, Alfred Pitre and Gabrielle Dupre Pitre; and one brother, Davis Pitre.  Visiting hours will be observed Sunday, June 17, 2007, from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.  Monday, visitation will continue from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.  A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.  Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas.

Davis Joseph Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 2 August 2001 - Prairie Ronde - (photo) Funeral services for Mr. Davis Joseph Pitre, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Prairie Ronde, died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2001, in Opelousas General Hospital.  He was a farmer and truck driver.  Survivors include: his wife, Marjorie Marie Ardoin Pitre of Prairie Ronde; two sons, Errol Joseph Pitre and wife Winola of Opelousas and Paul Quintin Pitre and wife Jackie of Prairie Ronde; two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Pitre Brown and husband Glynn of Prairie Ronde and Mrs. Mona Pitre Stout and husband Glenn of Opelousas; a sister, Gladys Pitre Moreau of Lawtell; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  Mr. Pitre was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gabrielle Dupre Pitre; and a daughter, Sandra Faye Pitre.  Visiting hours will be observed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Friday until time of services.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
