Obituary: The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Sunday, 16 September 2007: (photo) Auston 'Yos' Pitre - December 23, 1912 - September 13, 2007 - Funeral services for Auston 'Yos' Pitre, 94, of Lake Charles, at the Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Ville Platte at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 15. Burial followed in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Mr. Pitre died Thursday, September 13, 2007. He was retired from Texaco and was a Merchant Marine veteran. Survivors include one daughter, Kathleen Lune of Lake Charles; one sister, Patsy Stegall of Morgan City; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florella West Pitre. Ardoin's Funeral Home of Ville Platte was in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of Ardoin's, Ville Platte. Mrs. Pitre, 80, of Pine Prairie died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, in her residence. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Auston Pitre of Pine Prairie; one daughter, Kathleen Luna of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services today in the church.
