Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 23 July 1964: Ville Platte - Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday for Aldes Pitre, 51, who died unexpectedly at 11 a.m. while at work at the Ville Platte Medical Center. Pitre has been an orderly at the hospital for the past 16 years. Surviving are his widow, the former Delia Fontenot; one daughter, Mrs. Floyd Richard, Ville Platte; four brothers, Madison, Herbert, Easay and E.T. Pitre, all of Ville Platte, three sisters, Mrs. Horace Ardoin and Mrs. Lindsey Fontenot of Ville Platte and Mrs. Marshall Soileau of Mamou, and four grandchildren. Interment was in the old Ville Platte cemetery with Ardoin Funeral Home in charge.

Misc.: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 18 October 1950: Six persons were injured in a head-on collision Saturday night on the Opelousas-Washington highway about one mile north of this city, it was reported from the office of Sgt. Jerome Haas. Those hurt and the extent of their injuries: Joseph Emile Quebedeaux, 42, of Morrow, possible fractured ribs and lacerations, treated at St. Landry clinic and dismissed. Aldes Pitre, 37, Ville Platte, fractured ribs, at Ardoin hospital in Ville Platte. Mrs. Pitre, 35, Ville Platte, broken right knee, lacerations of the face and leg, at Ardoin hospital. Beauty May Pitre, 14, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pitre, minor head injuries, treated at Ardoin hospital. Emma Joy Duplechain, 14, Lake Charles, shock, at Ardoin hospital. Nettie Fontenot, 15, Ville Platte, fractured left arm, transferred from Ardoin hospital to New Orleans. State Trooper Howard Guilbeau one of the investigating officers, said Quebedeaux was driving a pick-up truck south to Opelousas and Pitre was driving a coach north to Washington when the vehicles collided head-on. The Pitre car was occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Pitre and the three young girls. Investigating with Trooper Guilbeau were Trooper Lumney Guillory and Deputy Sheriff Gladney Billeaudeau.

Obituary: The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Wednesday, 16 March 1988: Ville Platte - Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. Aldes Pitre, the former Dolia Fontenot, 73, of Ville Platte, who died Monday at her residence in Ville Platte following a brief illness. Burial will be in the old Ville Platte Cemetery. She was a retired nurses aide. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Beaulah) Richard of Lafayette; one brother, Tom J. Fontenot of Ville Platte; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be observed from 7 a.m. today until time of services. Ardoin Funeral Home of Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.
