Alexander Peets, 83, of 3 Emma St., died at 9:50 a.m. Sunday at Mercy
General Hospital here after a long illness. Funeral services were held at
9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Church. Burial was in St. Alphonsus
Cemetery here. He was born at Mooers Forks Oct. 2, 1880, the son of
Peter and Gladys Lesperance Peete. Mr. Peete was married twice. His
first wife, Mary Wood Garlick, died at West Chazy. His second wife,
Leopoldine Fauvel Sequin, died here in 1953. Mr. Peete had made his
home in Tupper Lake for the past 25 years, and was employed at the Oval Wood
Dish Corporation plant until his retirement. Surviving are five sisters:
Mrs. Clara Patnode of Beekmantown; Mrs. Emma LaFountain and
Mrs. Albina Mayou, both of Clinton, Mass.; Mrs. Flanda Nephew of West
Chazy, and Mrs. Mary Rivard of Northampton, Mass.; one brother, Joseph
Peete of Clinton, Mass., and several nieces and nephews. [posted online by Malda

Obituary: Plattsburgh Daily Republican (NY), 25 June 1940 - Mrs. Mary (Wood) Peet, wife of Alex Peet, died at her home in Woods Falls, June 21st. Interment was at West Chazy in the Wood family plot, Sunday afternoon.

December 1953: Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Alphonsus Church for Mrs. Alexander Peets, 63, who died at 11:30 a.m.
Wednesday at her home, 42 Demars blvd. She had been in failing health more
than a year, and was under treatment through October at Mercy General Hospital,
returning home Nov. 4th. She was born Leopoldine Faubel on July 23,
1890, at Rigaud, Quebec, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Faubel, and
was married 42 years ago at Hawkesbury, Ont. to Paul Seguin. They
moved to Tupper Lake 32 years ago, and Mr. Seguin worked as a barber here until
his death in 1943. On April 7, 1951, she married to Alexander Peets,
he survives. Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Leopold
Seguin of Brainardsville, Charles Seguin of Palmer, N.Y. and
Lawrence Seguin of Hartford, Conn.; two daughters, Mrs. Don (Yvette)
Smith of Jay, N.Y. and Mrs. Harry (Jane) Ackier of Ilion; 11
grandchildren; also one sister, Mrs. Alexandre Sabourin of Vankleek Hill,
Ont. and four brothers, Maxime and Arthur Faubel of Montreal, Wilfred
of Lachine, Que. and Oscar Faubel, Hawkesbury, Ont. Mrs. Peets
was active in the St. Ann Society of St. Alphonsus Church.
