Obituary: The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Monday, 6 July 1925: Mrs. Francois Mathieu died at her late residence, 214 Second Street on Sunday morning July 5, 1925, at 2 a.m., at the age of 72 years and 11 months. Mrs. Mathieu, who was before her marriage Mrs. Palmyre Boutin of St. Martin parish, is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Edmond Picard, Mrs. Polite Barras and Mrs. Cretus Landry, all of Lafayette parish; one son, Numa Mathieu of Lafayette parish and a number of grandchildren. Funeral services which were largely attended were held this morning at 9 o'clock at St. John's Cathedral. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Rene Delhomme.

Hermance Pitre: The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Monday, 5 July 1943: Mrs. Hypolite Barras, nee Armanse Pits, died at her home in this city shortly after noon Sunday. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. today at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with interment in St. Genevieve's Catholic cemetery. Surviving are her husband; one son Adam Barras of Port Arthur, Texas; six grand- and three great-grandchildren survive and one sister Mrs. Edmond Picard of this city. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Martin and Castille Funeral Home.
