I cannot place this particular Alexander definitively:  The Northern Observer (Massena, NY), Thursday, 24 May 1894:  The body of Alex. Lashamb, of Cornwall, who was drowned while hunting ducks near Lancaster last fall, was found near St. Zotique, by the crew of the steamer Rocket last Saturday.  The remains were brought to Cornwall for interment.
