Pitre.  Brother of Mrs. Henry Boudreaux, Mrs. Charles Gaudet, Mrs. Nidas Boudreaux, Mrs. Clarence Benoit, Mrs. Emma Ordoyne, Mr. Hector Pitre and the late Mrs. Louise Ordoyne, Mrs. Joseph Sanchez, Mrs. Orestile Ponvelle, Mr. Eddie and Wilfred Pitre.  Son of the late Lucien and Julie Ford Pitre.  Survived by 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Mass from Westside Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expwy, Marrero, La. on Thursday, June 17, 1982 at 9 o'clock a.m.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Thibodaux, La.

Herbert Archange Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Sunday, 15 December 2013:  Herbert Archange Pitre, Sr. entered peacefully into heaven on Friday, December 13, 2013.  Devoted husband of the late Earline Orgeron Pitre of 64 years.  Loving father of the late Herbert Archange Pitre, Jr.  Grandfather of Herbert A. Pitre, III and Dawn Pitre and 3 great-grandchildren.  Son of the late Euline M. Rodrigue Pitre and Oben Pitre.  Preceded in death by his brothers and a sister, Alton Pitre, Sherman Pitre, and Utah Pitre Prestenbach.  He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Age 89, a native of Harvey, LA and a resident of Marrero.  Herbert served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from Continental Can Company after many years of service.  A backyard mechanic who loved working on cars for his friends, it was his hobby.  A parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Marrero.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 am.  Visitation from 9:00 am to funeral time.  Interment in Restlawn Park in Avondale.  The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Marrero Healthcare Nursing Home for their loving care of Mr. Herbert.

Alton Joseph Pitre:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 22 June 1993:  Alton Joseph Pitre, a mechanic for Jefferson Parish's sanitation department, died Sunday of a heart attack at his home.  He was 63.  Mr. Pitre was a lifelong resident of Marrero and a mechanic for Jefferson Parish for 21 years.  Survivors include his wife, Nita Dardar; a son, Ray Gisclair; two daughters, Julie Pitre and Pearl Pennino; a brother, Herbert Pitre Sr.; a sister, Utah Prestenbach; and two grandchildren.  A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway in Marrero, followed by a funeral Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd. in Marrero.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

 

Utah Pitre:  L'Observateur (La Place, LA), Saturday, 13 July 2002: Marrero - Utah Pitre Prestenbach, 71, a native of Marrero and resident of Luling for 36 years, died July 3.  She was the wife of the late Raymond Prestenbach and mother of Dianne Russell and Rebecca "Becky" Dantin.  She was also the companion of Howard Chiasson.  She was the daughter of the late Oben and Euline Rodrigue Pitre and sister of Herbert Pitre Sr. and the late Aubin "Sherman" and Alton Pitre.  She is also survived by one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one grandchild.  Services were July 6 in the chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Westlawn Park Cemetery, Gretna.
