Obituary:  Times Picayune (New Orleans, LA), Tuesday, 22 June 1993:  Alton Joseph Pitre, a mechanic for Jefferson Parish's sanitation department, died Sunday of a heart attack at his home.  He was 63.  Mr. Pitre was a lifelong resident of Marrero and a mechanic for Jefferson Parish for 21 years.  Survivors include his wife, Nita Dardar; a son, Ray Gisclair; two daughters, Julie Pitre and Pearl Pennino; a brother, Herbert Pitre Sr.; a sister, Utah Prestenbach; and two grandchildren.  A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway in Marrero, followed by a funeral Mass at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd. in Marrero.  Burial will be in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Westwego.

Obituary:  Nita Pitre, January 14, 1934 - December 25, 2019, Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home:  Nita Dardar Pitre passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, at the age of 85, and was a lifelong resident of Marrero.  She was the beloved wife of the late Alton Joseph Pitre.  Mother of the late Ray Peter Gisclair, the late Julie Ann Pitre, and Pearl Pitre Burgo (Richard M Brandt Jr.).  Grandmother of Roch Joseph Pennino and Arthur Joseph Gisclair.  Great-grandmother of Lisa Gordon.  Daughter of the late Joseph Anthony Dardar and the late Lucille Creppel Dardar.  Sister of the late Tony Dardar, the late Erison Dardar, the late Eris Dardar, Adam Dardar, and Walton Dardar.  Special beloved friend of Adam "Poochie", Phillip and Allen Billiot, Tony Violia, David Zeller, Damien LeBourgeouis, Wayne Delagardelle, Margaret Violia, and Debbie Esters, who were like daughters to her.  Nita never met a stranger, everyone she came across soon became a friend.  Her favorite pastime was to go have coffee with friends at Coffee &.  She loved to garden and to cook-for everybody.  She had many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.  A special thanks to Rich, who gave his all to care for Nita and Pearl.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westside Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, LA, affiliating will be her dear friend and Chaplain J Justiss at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Interment following in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.

Julie Ann Pitre:  The New Orleans Advocate (LA), 8 January 2016:  Julie Ann Pitre entered peacefully into heaven on Monday, January 4, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.  Loving daughter of Nita Dardar Pitre and the late Alton Joseph Pitre.  Sister of Pearl Pitre Burgo (fiance Richard M. Brandt, Jr.) and Ray P. Gisclair (fiancee Ruby).  She is also survived by four godchildren, Roch Joseph Pennino, Arthur Joseph Gisclair, Erison Joseph Dardar, Jr., Cody Allen Burgo, Angelique Marie Dardar and her adopted aunt Goldie Vicknair.  Devoted cousin Debbie Estes and her 'sisters' Sandra Burgo, Kim Curtis, Margaret Viola, Peggy Rodriguez, Tammy Alberado and 'brother' Larry Joseph Burgo and preceded in death her fiance, Jay Gulizo.  She is also survived by numerous loving uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.  The family would like to thank the sweet nurses at West Jefferson Medical Center who loved and cared for her, Fresenius Medical Care, Roland Becnel, N.P. at West Care Medical Center, Dr. Charles Siminson, and all her good buddies in Physical Therapy, Kim, Megan, Katie, Heather, Randy, Mike, Suzie Russell, her cousin and the driver, Janell.  Age 63, born on February 4, 1952 in New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA Julie was a very loving and caring person.  She enjoyed going to Mississippi, playing on her computer, word puzzles, crafts, talking to her friends on the phone and spending time with friends and family.  Julie will be missed by all who loved her.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, Marrero, LA on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm.  Visitation from 10:30 am until Funeral time.  Interment will be private at a later date.
