Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 27 November 1972:  Funeral services for Linze A. Pitre, 68, well known resident of Prairie Ronde, will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Pitre died at 12:30 a.m. today at Our Lady of the Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette following an illness of one month.  He was a brick layer.  His body is at Lafond and Son Funeral Home in Opelousas, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight.  Pitre is survived by his widow, the former Corinne Dupre, and one daughter, Mrs. Jesse Dupre, both of Prairie Ronde; three brothers, Arthur, Theo and Adam Pitre, and two sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Ledoux and Mrs. Harold Boudreaux, all of Opelousas.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Monday, 29 December 1997:  Prairie Ronde - Funeral services for Mrs. Corine Dupre Pitre, 92, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church here with burial in the church mausoleum.  The Rev. Austin Leger will officiate.  Mrs. Pitre died at 1:42 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 1997, in the Ville Platte Medical Center.  Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jesse (Gerline) Dupre of Prairie Ronde, and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Pitre was preceded in death by her husband, Linze Pitre, and her parents, Alcide and Aza Guillory Dupre.  Visitation began at 11 a.m. and will continue until 10 p.m. Monday and will resume at 8 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.

Jeraline Pitre:  Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde for Gerry Pite, age 83, who passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at Eunice Manor in Eunice.  Mrs. Dupre was a native and a lifelong resident of Prairie Ronde.  She retired with Sears as a Credit Manager.  She was a parishioner of the Scared Heart Chapel of Prairie Ronde where she was a member of The Ladies Altar Society and also a member of the prayer group.  Survivors include her several first cousins; and her primary caregivers, Tim Allemon and his wife, Carolyn, of Prairie Ronde.  She was preceded in death by her parents; Linzie Pite and her mother the former Corine Dupre; her husband of thirty years, Jessie Dupre; and one infant son.  Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Road was in charge of arrangements.

- Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Sunday, 23 January 2011:  Graveside services will be held for Gerry Pitre Dupre at 9 a.m. today in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Prairie Ronde.  Pite died Friday at Eunice Manor in Eunice.  Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
