Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Samart Funeral Home in Houma. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Gros Pitre; four sons, Andrew Pitre, Alvin Pitre Jr., Robert Pitre and Anthony Easton Pitre; five daughters, Linda Pitre, Brenda Pitre, Kim Portier, Youlanda Warren and Mabel Degruise; three stepsons, Richard Anderson, Charles Anderson and David Anderson; one stepdaughter, Marie Rose Cedatol; one brother, Horace Pitre Sr.; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
