Obituary:  The Southwest Star (Sulphur, LA), Wednesday, 19 May 1971:  Funeral services for Adras J. Pitre, 61, were held at 10 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings.  Burial in the Calvary Cemetery was under direction of Segura Funeral Home.  Pitre died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday in the Jennings American Legion Hospital after a lengthy illness.  A native of Elton, he was employed as a watchman for Superior Oil Co.  He was a brother of Mrs. Frank Miller of Sulphur.

Obituary:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Tuesday, 17 September 1996:  Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in Matthews & Son Funeral Home Chapel for Lucy Pitre, 80, who died at 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, 1996 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.  The Rev. Oris Broussard will officiate.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.  A native of Pine Island born March 3, 1916, Mrs. Pitre was a resident of Lafayette the past eight years.  Having resided most of her life in Jennings, she was a homemaker.  Her survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Mike (Lurlene) Day of Lafayette; one brother, W. R. Miller of Fullerton, Calif., one sister, Mrs. Layson N. (Viola) Richard Sr. of Beaumont, Texas; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Juanita Guillory, and a sister, Zula Skipworth.  A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday.  Visitation began Monday and will continue from 8 a.m. today until service time.  Matthews & Son Funeral Home, Jennings, is in charge of arrangements.

Lurlene Marie Pitre:  The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Sunday, 8 January 2017:  A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Bayou Church for Lurlene M. Day, 76, who passed away January 3, 2017 at her residence.  Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.  Survivors include her husband, S. L. "Mike" Day of Lafayette; two sons, Mark (Roma) Conner of Houston and Wade Conner of Portland, Ore.; one step-son, Smith (Mary) Day of Slidell; two step-daughters, Bonita (Matthew) Redding of New Orleans and Anita (Victor) Kelly of Fairfax, Vir.; three grandchildren, Alexander, Andrea, and Nicole Conner; and six step-grandchildren, Stratton and Keaton Day, Atticus and Wyatt Redding, Lily Gernon, and Annabel Phillips.  She was preceded in death by her parents, the former Lucy Miller and Adras Pitre; and one sister, Juanita Guillory.  Lurlene was a native of Jennings and resident of Lafayette since 1972.  She worked as a teller in numerous banks around the Lafayette area, and was the Executive Director of the Gatehouse Foundation.  Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Bayou Church prior to the service on Wednesday.  Walters Funeral Home, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of arrangements.
