Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), March 1998: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut for Andrew Joseph Pitre, 95, a native and resident of Montegut, who died at 11 p.m. March 28, 1998. Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Montegut Fire Station. Burial will be at the church cemetery. He was the father of Norval and Gerald Pitre, both of Montegut, Andrew Pitre Jr. of Bourg, Charles Pitre of Houma and Mona Pitre Stouffled of Montegut; brother of Allen Pitre of Montegut and Leola Pitre David of Metairie. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Prosperie Pitre; parents, Elie "Lee" and Julienne Rhodes Pitre; brothers, Camile, Miller, Bruce and Maurice Pitre; sisters, Oreanna and Rosemary Pitre. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an employee of Texaco, Inc. and worked at the Houma warehouse. Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut on Saturday, August 27, 2016 beginning at 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery. Norval is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Englade Pitre, son, Roy Pitre and wife Kathy of Montegut, daughters, Connie Fabre and husband Brian of Baton Rouge, LA; Janet Pitre and fiance Pete Flores of San Antonio, TX; Kathy Pitre of Montegut, LA; grandchildren, Jamie Fabre LeBlanc and husband Zac, Jeffrey Fabre and wife Lauren Hunter; Stefan Pitre and Gavin Pitre; great-grandchildren, Collin LeBlanc and Hunter Fabre; brothers, Andrew Pitre, Jr. and wife Ernestine, Charles Pitre and wife Elaine; sister, Mona Pitre Stoufflet and sister-in-law Arlene Pitre. Norval loved to travel with his family and thoroughly enjoyed his grandkids. He was an avid Tulane football and baseball fan. He retired from Texaco after 32 years of service as a drilling superintendent and served our country in the U.S. Army. The family would like to thank Haydel Hospice for their care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Cody Chatagnier, will begin at 11:00am. Burial will be held in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ernestine Pitre; daughter, Kerrie Lynn and husband Leonard Dupre; grandchildren, David Naquin Jr., Ryan Naquin Sr. and wife Jolene, Matthew Naquin Sr. and wife Aryel, Kevin Dupre and wife Chrystal; great-grandchildren, Ryan Naquin Jr., Maddix Naquin, Matthew Naquin Jr., Reece Naquin, Peyton Naquin, Katie Naquin; brother, Charles Pitre and wife Elaine; sister, Mona Stoufflet; and numerous extended family members. He was a loyal and trusted employee for Texaco for 34 1/2 years and on his time off he was a carpenter for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 272 in Montegut, The Forty and Eight, and Houma Terrebonne Planning Commission. He coached boys' basketball and girls' softball for TPR. He was an avid Tulane fan. Charles enjoyed wood working, making homemade hot sauce with his son, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all whose hearts he touched and helped. Charles was called back home to be with the ultimate carpenter, Jesus Christ. He's probably renovating something already. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Russell Henry and his staff for their love and care. Gerald John Pitre: Houma
Daily Comet (LA): Gerald John 'Hambone' Pitre, 73, a native and
resident of Montegut, passed away on July 6, 2016 after a courageous 5 1/2 year
battle with pancreatic cancer. Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church in Montegut on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 8:30 a.m. until 11
a.m. A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montegut on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery. He is survived by his
loving and devoted spouse of 51 years, Arlene Stoufflet; sons, Micky
J. (Jennifer Ruby) Pitre, Ron L. (Erin LeCompte) Pitre; daughter Nicole
Pitre (Chris) Ruiz; 8 grandchildren, Justin (companion Melanie Keppler),
Jonah, Shea, Drew, Molly, and CeCe Pitre, Lexie and Emma Ruiz; brother,
Norval (Elizabeth), Andrew J. (Ernestine), Charles (Elaine); sister,
Mona Stoufflet; Sister-in-law Cheryl (Bernard) Fick. He was
preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Pitre Sr. and Edna Prosperie Pitre;
his in-laws, Emery and Lela 'Toute' LeBoeuf Stoufflet;
Brother-in-law, Lynn Stoufflet and nephew, Clyde 'Bink' Pitre.
Gerald was a retired, self-employed welder who enjoyed his work and the people
he met. He enjoyed dancing, bike-riding, volleyball, gardening, and baking
fig cakes and cookies. Gerald especially valued his time with his family
and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a dedicated usher at
Sacred Heart Church. A special thanks to Haydel Hospice, Dr. Abou-Issa,
TGMC, Oschner Hospital, Mary Bird Perkins Center, and all the staffs.
Gerald will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of
flowers, please make donations to Sacred Heart Church in Gerald's memory.
