Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Friday, 1 October 1976:  Prairie Ronde - Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Adam Pitre, 77, of Opelousas, who died suddenly at his residence Thursday.  Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on the old Sunset Highway.  Survivors include a son, Vorise Pitre of Opelousas; a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Ragsdale of Opelousas; a brother, Arthur Pitre of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Boudreaux and Mrs. Gilbert Ledoux, both of Opelousas; and four grandchildren.  A rosary will be said at 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.  The funeral home will close at 11 o'clock tonight and re-open at 7 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

Obituary:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 22 November 1973:  Funeral services for Mrs. Adam Pitre, 76, the former Dora Brasseaux, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Prairie Ronde.  Mrs. Pitre died at 2:45 p.m.  She had been ill for two years.  Burial will be in the church cemetery directed by Lafond and Son Funeral Home.  Mrs. Pitre, a member of the Ladies Altar Society, is survived by her husband, Adam Pitre of Prairie Ronde; one son, Vorise of Opelousas; one daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Ragsdale of Opelousas; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Fontenot of Lawtell and Mrs. Clarence Boudreaux of Lewisburg and four grandchildren.

Vorise Pitre:  Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Thursday, 9 July 1992:  Funeral services for Mr. Vorise Pitre, 63, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas with burial in Bellevue Memorial Park.  The Rev. Austin Leger will conduct the services.  Mr. Pitre, a resident of Opelousas, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Doctors' Hospital in Opelousas.  He was a former employee of La. Farm Power Company for over 30 years and was employed with the St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court's Office for 3 1/2 years.  Mr. Pitre was a member of Farm Bureau and Woodmen of the World.  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rooney Sylvester Pitre of Opelousas; two daughters, Mrs. Roadie (Jacqui) Sanchez of Baton Rouge and Mrs. Charles (Donna) Durand of Plaquemine; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Ragsdale of Opelousas; and a grandchild.  Visiting hours are from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services on Friday.  A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.  Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
