ObituaryMassena Observer (NY), Thursday 4 June 1936:  Albert Lashomb Hangs Himself – Commits Suicide in Jail at Potsdam – Houghton Resident arrested on wife’s complaint for being disorderly is found dead by Potsdam policeman - Albert Lashomb, 35, of Houghtown, just outside of Massena, committed suicide by hanging himself by his belt in the village lockup at Potsdam Friday night.  He was taken to the Potsdam jail by authorities from Norfolk to await arraignment on a charge of disorderly conduct on complaint of his wife.  He was found dead by the police.  Dr. S. Pope Brown, Potsdam, coroner, issued a verdict of death by suicide.  Mr. Lashomb was 35 years of age.  He was born in the town of Norfolk, a son of Joseph and Elisabeth McGregor Lashomb.  He was employed in the Massena post office building for a time and had been working on road projects in the town of Norfolk.  Last February he married Mrs. May Richards.  She survives, also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lashomb; one sister, Mrs. Richard Flynn, all of Houghtown.  The funeral was held Monday afternoon in Norfolk and burial was made in the Raymondville cemetery.

- Ogdensburg Journal (Ogdensburg, NY), Monday, 2 March 1936:  Mrs. Assel weds Albert Lashomb. Massena - Albert Joseph Lashomb and Mrs. Mae Richards Assel, both of Norfolk, were married at the Advent Christian parsonage in Massena Saturday afternoon by Rev. Walter A. Page, pastor.  The witnesses were Richard Phynn and Lorraine Sovie, both of Cook street, Massena. The bridegroom is a son of Joseph and Lizzie McGregor Lashomb and is a native of Norfolk.  The bride is the daughter of Ransom and Rhoda Phillips Richards.  She too was born in Norfolk.  This is the third marriage for the bride. The couple will live in Norfolk.

 

Obituary:  Watertown Daily Times (Watertown, NY), Tuesday, 6 March 1951:  Funeral Services held for Mrs. Effie Mae Dow, Norfolk.  Norfolk, March 6 - Mrs. Effie Mae Dow, 62, Norfolk, died in Ogdensburg Saturday.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. from the Buck funeral home, Norwood, Rev. Francis Hughes officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside cemetery in the spring.  She was born June 9, 1888, daughter of Mrs. Rhoda Phillips Richards Hance, Norfolk, and the late Ronsom Richards.  Surviving besides her mother are a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Davey of Norfolk, and two brothers, Leslie Richards of Norfolk and Robert Richards of Massena.
