MISC:  The Northern Light (NB), 7 October 1914:  Accident.  Mr William Pitre, the veteran carpenter... fell off a ladder...while engaged in putting a new roof on the Old Convent building...       

 

Obituary:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Saturday, 8 July 1922:  Bathurst, July 6 - A well known and highly respected resident of Bathurst passed away last Saturday, when Mr. William Pitre died, after a long period of ill-health, at the age of seventy-eight years.  Mr. Pitre was born and lived all his life in this town, and for many years was an active and successful carpenter and builder.  He was a man of sterling character and always possessed the respect and confidence of a wide circle of friends who deeply mourn his death.  One son John J., of Bathurst, and four daughters, Mrs. Irene Frenette, Mrs. F. O. Landry, and Mrs. Martin Doucet, of Bathurst, and Mrs. R. N. Godin, of St-Lambert (Que.), survive.  He also leaves one brother, Lange Pitre, of South Bathurst.  The funeral on Sunday afternoon was a large one, the pallbearers being Messrs. Joseph O. Blanchard, Robert Good, Thomas Salter, William O. Duguay, William Sullivan and James Degrace.

Obituary:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Saturday, 25 April 1914:  Bathurst - The death occurred here this morning of Mrs. William Pitre, after a brief illness.  Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters - Mrs. Richard Godin, of St. Lambert (P.Q.); Mrs. F. Frenette, of Petit Rocher; Mrs. F. O. Landry and Mrs. M. Doucet, of Bathurst; and one son, John, at home, to all of whom much sympathy is extended.

Marie Josephine Pitre:  The Northern Light (NB), 19 July 1929:  Mrs. Irenee Frenette died July 14, 1929 at age 57, born in Bathurst, came to Petit Rocher after her marriage.  Six sons and 5 daughters.  One brother John J Pitre of Bathurst; two sisters Mrs. Martin Doucet of South Bathurst and Mrs. Richard Godin of St-Lambert, Qc.

 

Sarah Jane Pitre:  Telegraph Journal (St. John, NB), Saturday, 6 July 1929:  Bathurst, July 5 - Many will learn with deep regret of the death of Mrs. Jane Landry, wife of F. O. Landry, which occurred here today.  Only a few weeks ago Mr. Landry moved to Edmundston, where he opened a jewellery store and optical parlor.  He returned here last weekend intending to take Mrs. Landry and family back to their new home buy owing to illness she was unable to go.  The late Mrs. Landry spent the most of her life in Bathurst and had a wide circle of friends.  She was 56 years of age, and is survived by her husband, for 30 years a prominent jeweller and optician of this town, three sons, Reginald, of Arvida, P.Q., and Alvin and Herbert, at home, and one daughter, Laurine, at home.  She also leaves one brother, J. J. Pitre, of Bathurst, and three sisters, Mrs. Martin Doucet and Mrs. Irene Frenette, both of Bathurst, and Mrs. Richard Godin, of Montreal.  The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon from the residence of her sister, Mrs. I. Frenette, where she had been making her home since her husband went to Edmundston.

 

Margaret Pitre:  The Montreal Star (Montreal, QUE), Thursday, 13 May 1965:  Godin, Marguerite.  On May 13, 1965, at Greenfield Park Hospital, after a short illness, Marguerite Pitre, in her 87th year, beloved wife of J. Richard Godin, dear mother of Alonzo, Father Rodolphe (White Fathers of Africa), Marguerite (Mrs. Paul Gaudreault) and Madeleine (Mrs. Alan Albert Magee).  Resting at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home, St. Lambert.  Funeral at 9 a.m. Saturday from St. Lambert Church.
