Obituary:  Yakima Herald-Republic (WA), Tuesday, 4 January 2005:  Valley Hills Funeral Home: Yakima - Nora B. Peets, 74, was reunited with her husband on January 1, 2005, as a result of complications from Parkinson's disease.  Nora was born to Lloyd (Buck) Edward and Nora Mae (Taylor) Sumerlin on August 8, 1930 in Yakima.  Nora spent her early years, and received her education, in Yakima.  In 1948 she met William L. Peets, they were married on July 21, 1948 in Reno, Nevada.  They moved to Seattle where their first son, William Jr., was born.  They moved to Arcata, CA and had two more sons, Larry and Dan.  Nora was a stay at home mom until the boys were grown, then she went to work at the country club as a waitress.  She loved to watch old cowboy movies and crochet.  Bill and Nora loved to gamble and they took frequent trips to Reno.  Nora was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be greatly missed by all.  She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Sumerlin and her husband, William Peets.  She is survived by her mother, Nora Sumerlin, sisters, Ruby Estep and Betty (Jack) Goehri; sons William, Larry (Mary) and Dan (Diana); grandchildren, Kimberly, Christopher, Garret and Geoffrey, Ryan, Leah and Cody and great-grandson, Alex.  Nora's family wishes to thank the staff at Good Samaritan for the great care that was given to her.  She is now free to dance with the angels.  No services are scheduled at this time.
