Obituary: Daytona Beach Sunday News Journal (Daytona Beach, FL), Sunday, 10 Sep 1995: Orange City - William Francis Peters, 86, of East Graves Avenue, a recreation and physical education director for 28 years for the Mental Health Department of New York State before his retirement, died Saturday at Volusia Medical Center. Mr. Peters, a Boy Scout leader for more than 40 years, was born in New Bedford, Mass., and came here in 1974 from Wassaic, N.Y. During World War II, he was a field director overseas for the American Red Cross. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, DeBary, and enjoyed fishing, photography and was an avid square dancer. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Jean; four sons, Richard, Newport, R.I., David, Coral Springs, Donald, Clinton Corner, N.Y., and Daniel Peters, Pawling, N.Y.; a daughter, Janice Stickcle, Ancramdale, N.Y.; two sisters, Mary Crowley, Fort Meyers, and Emily Welch, Brooksville; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Catholic Church Building Fund, DeBary. Allen-Summerhill, Orange City, is in charge.

Obituary: South Florida Sun Sentinel (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Sunday, 17 April 2005: Peters, Barbara J., 92, of Coral Springs, Orange City, FL, Amenia, and Ithaca, NY passed away April 15, 2005. Barbara emulated the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi as she lived her life. She was a superb seamstress and made the world's best pies. With her husband Bill, she traveled the country in an Airstream, camped and canoed in the wilderness, and was active in Marriage Encounter. Barbara was past president of their square dancing club and the Wayne Co.. NY Farm Bureau Woman's Committee. She graduated from Ithaca College. Barbara was an outstanding loving mother. She was predeceased by her husband William F. Peters. Barbara is survived by sons Richard, David, Donald, and Daniel; daughter Janice Stickle; brothers Oakley and Albert Allen; 15 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday 4/18/05 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Coral Springs. Arrangements entrusted to Kraaer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Coral Springs, Florida.

He served as a Vice President for the Marriot Corporation, MCI, Real Estate Data and Senior Vice President of U.S. Sprint. David was an outstanding, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He was predeceased by his mother Barbara J. Peters and father William F. Peters. David is survived by his wife Dorothy and his children Katherine and David, brothers Richard, Donald, and Daniel, sister Janice Stickle, and grandson James McMullin. A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 8/30/06 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Coral Springs, Florida. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
