Obituary:  The Monroe Evening News (Monroe, MI), Monday, 19 February 1934:  Erie, Feb. 19 - Victor Peat of Erie, aged 69 years, died Saturday evening at 8 o'clock.  Death was due to coronary embalus.  He had been ill for the last four years.  Mr. Peat was born in LaSalle.  For 17 years he was a foreman on the D. U. R. section.  He was married twice, the second time in 1925 to Laura Rousseau, who preceded him in death.  Mr. Peat was a member of the Foresters Lodge of America and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Erie.  He is survived by seven adopted children, Nealson of Erie, Floyd of Rockwood, Russell, Verdon, Mrs. Ethel Zimmerman, Mrs. Beulah Babcock and Miss Naomi Peat of Toledo.  The body will rest at the Farnham funeral home in Temperance until Tuesday at 9 a.m. and services will be held in St. Joseph's Church of Erie.  The Rev. Fr. E. Wolfstyn pastor, will be in charge and burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Notes for Eliza Boodry:

- Detroit Times (MI), Monday, 8 August 1910:  Eliza Pete said that her husband, Victor, had knocked her down with a chair, and then threw all the dishes in the house on her.  A witness was asked as to Victor's drinking habits and she said he was drunk nearly all the time.  "He was drunk when he was married," she said.  Decree granted.  Divorced 6 August 1910 - extreme cruelty.

Obituary:  The Monroe Evening News (Monroe, MI), Thursday, 18 February 1932:  Mrs. Laura Pete, aged 58 years, of Erie died in Mercy Hospital at 2 a.m. today of heart disease.  The body has been removed to Nadeau and Weber's undertaking parlors on West Front street, pending funeral arrangements by the family.  She leaves a husband, Victor, and several children.  She had lived in Erie for a number of years.
