Obituary:  Times Picayune, 7 October 1974:  Mr. Volcare J. Pitre at Galliano, La., on Sunday, October 6, 1974, at 6:05 o'clock a.m., beloved husband of Eveda Duet Pitre; father of Ulysses and Donald Pitre, and Mrs. Roland Guidry; brother of Francis and Roland Guidry; Mrs. Percy Cantrelle, Mrs. Anderson Griffin, Mrs. Vincent Saia, Mrs. Jefferson Pitre and the late Eusebe Pitre; also survived by 11 grandchildren; age 59 years; a native and a resident of Galliano, La.  Relatives and friends of the family, also Members of the Masonic Fraternity Lafourche Lodge No. 427, are invited to attend the funeral.  Masonic Services will be held from the Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La. on Tuesday, October 8, 1974 at 9:00 o'clock a.m.  Religious services at the United Methodist Church in Golden Meadow, La. at 10:00 o'clock a.m.  Interment in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano, La.  Falgout Funeral Home in charge.

Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet, 1992:  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Eveda Duet Pitre, 74, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday (14 July).  Interment will be in Cheramie Cemetery.  She was the mother of Donald Pitre and Audrey Guidry; sister of Penelton and Eulalie Duet and Anna Ledet.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Volcare Pitre; parents, Cheramie and Angela Charpentier Duet; a son, Uyless Pitre; brothers, Leo and Diel Duet; a sister, Daisy Duet; and one grandson, Stevie Pitre.  Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre, 65, a native of Galliano and resident of Golden Meadow, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off.  Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery.  He is survived by one son, Lt. Leighton J. Pitre; three daughters, Ramona P. Rebstock, Aileen P. Esponge and Gayla P. Cheramie; one sister, Audrey Guidry; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Lafont Pitre; his parents, Volcare and Eveda Duet Pitre; and one brother, Ulyess Pitre.  He worked in the marine industry and was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
