Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet, 1992: A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Eveda Duet Pitre, 74, a native and resident of Cut Off, who died 3:30 a.m. Tuesday (14 July). Interment will be in Cheramie Cemetery. She was the mother of Donald Pitre and Audrey Guidry; sister of Penelton and Eulalie Duet and Anna Ledet. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Volcare Pitre; parents, Cheramie and Angela Charpentier Duet; a son, Uyless Pitre; brothers, Leo and Diel Duet; a sister, Daisy Duet; and one grandson, Stevie Pitre. Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.

resident of Golden Meadow, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Cut Off. Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with
burial in Cheramie Cemetery. He is survived by one son, Lt. Leighton J.
Pitre; three daughters, Ramona P. Rebstock, Aileen P. Esponge and Gayla
P. Cheramie; one sister, Audrey Guidry; six grandchildren; and one
great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Lafont
Pitre; his parents, Volcare and Eveda Duet Pitre; and one brother,
Ulyess Pitre. He worked in the marine industry and was a parishioner
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
