Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial took place today at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Golden Meadow for Mercess Felarise Pitre, 87, a native of Leeville and resident of Golden Meadow, who died at 7 a.m. Saturday (11 April 1992).  Interment followed in Our Lady of the Prompt Succor Cemetery.  She was mother of Leedwood, Roland, Thomas Jr., Larry, Linton and Elmo Pitre, Amay P.St. Pierre, Norma P. Lafont, Alfrances P. Martin, Barbara Pitre Wilson and Eva Lombas Guidry; sister of Marcedise Esponge, Nativitas Eymard and Lenore Burkett.  She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Pitre; parents, Fernand and Molvina Callais Felarise; daughter Neges Lombas Melancon; brother Fernand Felarise Jr.; sister, Angelina Felarise and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Linwood Joseph Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow for Linwood Joseph Pitre, 77, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, who died at 5:36 p.m. July 28, 1998.  Visitation will be 8 a.m. until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cut Off.  He was the husband of Carrie St. Pierre Pitre; father of Neil and Daniel Pitre and Ginger P. Ledet; step-father of Dwayne Callais, Kate Gaspard, Patty Charpentier and Sandra Smith; brother of Roland Pitre Sr., Amy St Pierre, Alfrancis Martin and Norma Lafont.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife Irene Gisclair Pitre; parents, Thomas Pitre Sr. and Mercess Felarise Pitre; and brother, Thomas Pitre Jr.  Samart Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.

St. Pierre Jr. and wife Beverly; three daughters, Dianna Terrebonne and husband Rodney "P.T.", Jannette Brunet and husband Andrew "T-Tan", and Robbin Martin and husband Dennis; one brother, Roland Pitre Sr.; two sisters, Norma Lafont and Alfrancis Martin; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Marcess F. Pitre Sr.; two brothers, Leewood Pitre and Thomas Pitre Jr.; one granddaughter, Tricia Martin; and one great-great-granddaughter, Theresa Guidry.  She was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and the Ladies of LaSalette.  She was a retired business owner of a restaurant and a service station.  Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, July 13, and 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, La.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow with entombment at the church cemetery.  Falgout Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Pitre Sr., 84, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, died at 12:03 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow.  Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.  He is survived by his companion, Dorothy Cheramie; two sons, Larry P. Pitre Sr. and Roland "Joey" J. Pitre Jr.; four daughters, Barbara Wilson, Laura Pitre, Faye Blanchard and Ophelia Galliano; two sisters, Norma Lafont and Alfrancis "Dada" Martin; and 21 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etheline Barzar Pitre; his parents, Thomas Pitre Sr. and Marcess Felarise Pitre; one grandchild, Eliot Cantrelle; two great-grandchildren, Chase "Chi Chi" Anthony Pitre and Michael Paul Cheramie; two brothers, Linwood Pitre and Thomas "Bodo" Pitre Jr.; and one sister, Amey St. Pierre.  Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.

Pitre Jr., 63, native and resident of Golden Meadow, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1993.  Services at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Golden Meadow, burial in church cemetery.  Survived by wife, Julia Hess Pitre; son, Thomas J. Pitre lll; daughters, Gwen Pitre, Van Pitre, Dinah Stallings and Buffy Boura; brothers, L.J. and Roland Pitre; sisters, Alfrances Martin, Norma Lafont and Amay St. Pierre; 11 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.  Preceded in death by parents, Thomas Pitre Sr. and Mercess Ferelise Pitre; daughters, Ray and Fay Pitre.

 

Alfrances Marie Pitre:  Alfrances 'Dada' Pitre Martin, 80, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Galliano, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until funeral time Friday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow.  A Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.  She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Lincoln Martin Sr.; children, Lincoln J. Martin Jr. (Evelyn), Cornel Martin Sr. (Cynthia), Debra Martin (companion, Billy Plaisance) and Hope Adams (Michael); sister, Norma Pitre Lafont; grandchildren, Tiffany Hymel, Ross Martin, Samantha Martin, Revee Dufrene, Cornel Martin Jr., Graham Martin, and Duncan Martin; great-grandchildren, Kerington, Kaylee, Colston, Stella and baby Dufrene; and sister-in-law, Lucille Gillenwater.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Pitre Sr. and Mercess Felarise Pitre; brothers, Leedwood Pitre, Roland Pitre Sr. and Thomas Pitre Jr.; and sister, Amay Pitre St. Pierre.  Alfrances was a member of the Ladies of LaSalette and the KC Auxiliary.  She was also a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church.  Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
