Obituary: Daily World (Opelousas, LA), Wednesday, 20 July 1983: Prairie Ronde - Funeral services for Mr. Stanward Pitre, 63, will be held at 4 p.m. today in our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church here with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. Pitre died Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Opelousas General Hospital. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary Lou Guillory of Opelousas; one son, Joseph (Joe) Silton Pitre of Eunice; one daughter, Mrs. John (Melba) Guillory of Eunice; three brothers, Hebert, Murray and Wilfred Pitre, all of Opelousas; one sister, Millian P. Johnson of Opelousas; five grandchildren. Mr. Pitre was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army and member of the Acadian DAZ Chapter 19. Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home on North Main Street in Opelousas is in charge of arrangements.
