Obituary: 11 April 1996: Peters, Angeline - L'Ardoise, Richmond Co., died April 10, 1996, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Lower L'Ardoise, she was a daughter of the late Dominic and Fabine (Sampson) Mombourquette. She was a member of Holy Guardian Angel Parish, L'Ardoise. She spent 30 years in Halifax employed as a seamstress with the Children's Hospital and other companies. Later she was employed with L'Ardoise Parish as housekeeper to the priest. She was an active member of L'Ardoise Lady's Social Club and was awarded certificates for parish and community service. Surviving are daughters, Rosie (Mrs. Roy Harker), Sadie (Mrs. Lorenzo Sampson), L'Ardoise; son, Edward, Timberlea; adopted son, Rev. Wilfredo Calderon, Ecuador, South America; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel; daughter, Marion; sisters, Virginia, Sarah; brother, George; grandson, Ivan; great-grandson, Michael. Visitation 1-4, 7-9 p.m. today in L'Ardoise Community Funeral Parlour. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Friday in Holy Guardian Angel Church, Rev. John MacIntyre officiating. Burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery, L'Ardoise. Family flowers only. Donations to William B. Kingston Memorial Clinic, L'Ardoise. Arrangements entrusted to Alex A. Morrison Funeral Home, St. Peter's.

Rose Anna May Peters: 14 June 1999; Harker, Rose Anna "Rosie" - age 69, of Lower l' Ardoise, died unexpectedly on June 12, 1999, at home. Born in L'Ardoise, Richmond Co., she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Angeline (Mombourquette) Peters. She was a member of the Holy Guardian Angel Parish, L'Ardoise. She was active in her community as a member of the l'Ardoise Fire Department Auxilary; the Ladies Social Club; the Seniors Jolly Club; the Annual l'Ardoise Festival; and past long time member of the l'Ardoise Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Rosie was employed for several years with the l'Ardoise Parish as housekeeper. She will be forever remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by daughters, Myra O'Brien (Raymond), Gladys Harker, Janet Landry (Paul), Sally Briand (Paul), Paula Sampson (Leo), all of L'Ardoise; Mary Sudeyko (Sam) Ont.; Edyth MacDonald (Graham), Bedford; Cecille Chapaveau, Sackville; sons, Keith (Simone), Weston (Linda), all of Sackville; Gary (Josie), Halifax; Chester (Shirley), John (Rosie), Glenn (Nadine), all of l'Ardoise; sister, Sadie Sampson (Lorenzo), l'Ardoise; brother, Edward Peters (Fran), Timberlea; 32 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Sarah Jane 'Sadie' Peters: C. H. Boudreau Funeral Home: Sampson, Sarah Jane "Sadie", 85, L'Ardoise, passed away, July 25, 2006, in the Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in L'Ardoise, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Angeline (Mombourquette) Peters. Sadie was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 110, L'Ardoise, Ladies Auxillary and was a former employee of the William F. Sampson & Sons General Store in L'Ardoise. She is survived by her loving husband, Lorenzo Joseph Sampson, L'Ardoise; daughter, Joan Marie Martell (Daniel A.), Point' du' Chene, New Brunswick; sons, Michael John Rehberg (Barbara Ann) L'Ardoise, Kenneth Joseph Rehberg (Claire), Sackville, New Brunswick; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Sadie is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her first husband John J. Rehberg; sisters, Rose Harker and Marion Jeans. Visitation will be held today from 9am till 9pm and on Thursday from 12pm till 1:30pm, in the Holy Guardian Angel Community Funeral Parlour in L'Ardoise. Funeral Mass to Celebrate the Life of Sadie will be held Thursday afternoon at 2pm in the Holy Guardian Angel Catholic Church, L'Ardoise with Rev. Barrett Clare Johnson officiating. Burial to follow in the Holy Guardian Angel Cemetery, L'Ardoise. Memorial donations can be made to the Dr. Kingston Memorial Clinic in L'Ardoise. Lorenzo and all the family would like to thank Dr. Eric Downing, the Nursing Staff and the Palliative Society for the excellent care and compassion given to Sadie while she was a patient at the Strait Richmond Hospital.
