Catherine Peters, in her 98th year; dear widow of Sylvan Peters; dear mother of Viola, Vince, Gus and Frank, all of St. Catherines, Jim of Thorold, Leo of Florida, Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Furneaux of London, Ontario, Mrs. S. (Julia) Thrasher of London, Ontario, Ernest of Brighton and Mrs. William (Rita) Wilkes of Courtney, B.C. Pre-deceased by 2 sons, Steven and John. She is survived by 40 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her 3 sisters, Mrs. George (Delphine) Landry of Windsor, Mrs. Mike (Caroline) Martell of Montreal and Mrs. Helaire (Odiel) Taylor of Halifax. Catherine Peters is at the Butler Funeral Home until Wednesday, April 15 at 10:30, then to St. Catherines Cathedral for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Catherine and Sylvain Peters, brothers Stephen, Gus, Leo, Francis and John and a sister Rita Wilks. Viola Peters is at the Downtown Chapel of Butler Funeral Home. The vigil for the deceased will be celebrated at the Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 16, 2001. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2001. The Rite of Committal will take place at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the building fund of St. Denis Church or St. Catherine's Cathedral would be appreciated by the family.

George Stephen Peters: The Standard (St. Catherines, ONT), Monday, 22 September 1969: Stephen George Peters, 56, of 24 Duke St., died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Hamilton. Born in Sydney, N.S., he had lived in this city for 43 years and was a member of St. Catherine's Cathedral. He is survived by his mother Mrs. Catherine Peters, city; seven brothers, James, Frank and Gus, city, John and Vincent, Welland, Leo, Windsor, Ernest of Bramalea; and five sisters, Viola Peters, city, Mrs. J. W. Wilkes, Courtney, B.C., Mrs. Stanley Thrasher, Burlington, Mrs. R. V. Furneaux, London and Mrs. R. Duff, Niagara Falls, N.Y. He is at the Butler Funeral Home until 9:30 a.m. tomorrow. Requiem high mass will be sung in St. Catherine's Cathedral at 10. Burial will be in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.

Charles Vincent Peters: The Standard (St. Catherines, ONT), Thursday, 27 December 2012: Peters, Vincent Charles - Passed away on Tuesday, December 25th, 2012 at the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital at the age of 94. Loving husband of E. Carmen for 63 years. Cherished father of Teri Peters and James (Deborah) Peters. Loving Grandpa of Sherry (Mark) Smith, Michael Peters and Jason Peters. Dear brother of Julie Thrasher, Sylvia (Bob) Furneaux, Evelyn Porn and James (Diane) Peters. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Mary Fast and Charlotte Peters. Vincent is predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Catherine Peters, his sisters Beatrice, Rita, Viola and his brothers Steve, John, Francis, Leo, Gus and Ernie. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Vincent was a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of St. Julia Church. He was employed by Ontario Hydro for 34 years until his retirement in 1980. Vincent was also a Union Steward for Ontario Hydro. The family will receive visitors at the George Darte Funeral Chapel on Friday from 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service time and details are still being confirmed. Dear grandfather of Zoey, Tabitha, Ryan, Amanda, Alex, Alisha, Carli, Patrick, Kelsey, Daniel, Dillon, Mathew, Cole, Michelle, Kaitlyn, Paul, Madison, Vanessa, Kelsey and Eric. James worked at General Motors for 37 years. He loved to play cribbage and spend time with family and friends.
