- Ladysmith news budget (Ladysmith, WI), Friday, 25 October 1918:  Bruce - Christ Nelson was taken to the hospital at Ladysmith last Saturday, suffering from an attack of grip.  Will Vreeland is substituting for him on the mail route.  James Pete was taken to the hospital the following day suffering from the same trouble.  They were sent there that they might receive better care.

 

Obituary:  Ladysmith news budget (Ladysmith, WI), Friday, 25 October 1918:  Dies at Hospital:  James Pete, of Bruce, who was brought to St. Mary's hospital Sunday suffering from influenza, died Tuesday evening from pneumonia.  Deceased leaves a wife and two children.  Arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made.

Dyar nee Green, passed away Tues., Feb. 24, 1970, at McHenry, Ill., aged 73 years, dear mother of Evelyn (Louis) Habsetzer; James (Evelyn) Pete, Robert (Alice) and Delbert (Enid) Dyar; sister of Virgil Green; also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  Services at Nieman Sons Funeral Home, Sat., Feb. 28, at 10 a.m.  Entombment Forest Home Chapel Gardens.  Friends may pay their respects from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Fri. and from 9 a.m. Sat. until time of services.

Pete, June 14, 1986.  Age 64 yrs.  Beloved husband of Evelyn (Kahelski).  Dear father of Jimi, Sandra (Thomas) Bockhorst, Bill (Dian), Judith (Thomas) Schmidt, Carrie York, Jackie (Fred) Unke and Kathy (George) Flees.  Fond brother of Evelyn (Lucian) Habersetzer, Robert (Alice) and Delbert (Enid) Dyar.  Further survived by 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Funeral services Wed. 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home to St. Alphonsus Church, Greendale for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.  Interment Wood National.  In state Tues. 4-9 p.m. with vigil service at 6:30 p.m.  Member of West A-- post no. 7972 VFW with ritual at 7 p.m. Tues.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings appreciated.  John J. Walloch.
