Obituary: Lafourche Daily Comet (LA): Robert J. Pitre Sr., 85, a native and resident of Galliano, died at 2:36 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until funeral time Thursday at United Methodist Church in Golden Meadow. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano. He is survived by his wife, Dora C. Pitre; one son, Robert J. Pitre Jr. and wife, Dinah; four daughters, Patsy Kiffe and husband, Ricky, Linda Griffin and husband, Eunice Jr., Christine Schulte and husband, Kenneth III, Jeanelle Cheramie and husband, Curtis; ten grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege and Argentine B. Pitre; three brothers, Volcare, Francis and Eusebe Pitre; four sisters, Stella Cantrelle, Lorencia Saia, Nora Pitre and Louise Griffin; and one great-grandchild. Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
