MISC:  July 1950:  Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pete and sons Paul and Billy of Depot St. spent Sunday visiting Mrs. Pete's mother, Mrs. Albert Bouchard of Clayton.

 

Obituary:  Tribune Press (Gouverneur, NY), Wednesday, 15 February 1984:  Paul T. Pete, 67, of 1103 Salina St., formerly of Gouverneur, a retired Watertown Daily Times employee, died of a heart attack Monday morning at Daytona Beach, Fla. where he had been spending the winter with his son, Thomas.  Funeral arrangements are incomplete.  His survivors include his wife, Betty; four sons, Paul, Arizona, William, Connecticut, Thomas, Daytona Beach and Robert, a senior at Clarkson College of Technology, Potsdam and four grandchildren.  Born Sept. 12, 1916, he was graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1936 and took a printing course at Rochester Institute of Technology.  He was employed as a linotype operator at the Tribune Press in Gouverneur before joining the Watertown Daily Times Dec. 5,1966 as a linotype operator.  Mr. Pete became a compositor with the newspaper's switch to photocomposition.  He retired Sept. 30, 1981 after nearly 15 years service in the newspaper's composing room.  He married Betty Bouchard Sept. 2, 1939 in St. Mary's Church, Clayton.  An Army veteran, he was a member of Army and Navy Post 61, American Legion and the Watertown Lodge of Elks.

Obituary:  Gouverneur Tribune Press (NY), Wednesday, 22 July 1992:  Clayton - A memorial Mass for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Pete, 71, Ormond Beach, Fla., formerly of Clayton and Watertown, will be held at a later date at St. Mary's Church, Clayton.  Mrs. Pete died Thursday, July 16 at Fairfax Hospital, Ormond Beach.  Arrangements are with the Cummings Funeral Home.  Surviving are four sons, Paul, Japan, William, Georgia, Thomas, Florida, and Robert, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph A. Bouchard, California, and Robert A. Bouchard, Clayton; four sisters, Mrs. Noel (Helen) LaLonde, Mrs. Harold (Veronica) Curtin, Mrs. Phillip (Virginia) Lake and Patricia Streets, all of Clayton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was born July 7, 1921, in Clayton, a daughter of Albert A. and Elizabeth Maude Yott Bouchard.  She attended St. Mary's School and was a graduate of the Newcomb Beauty Academy, Watertown.  After completing beauty school, she moved to Gouverneur, where she was a beautician at the Vogue Beauty Shop.  On Sept. 2, 1939, she married Paul T. Pete of Gouverneur, at St. Mary's Church, Clayton, with the Rev. George E. Racette officiating.  The couple resided in Gouverneur after their marriage.  Mr. Pete was employed by the Tribune Press, Gouverneur, and served in the Army during World War II.  The couple moved to Watertown following his discharge from the Army.  Mrs. Pete was a hairdresser in Watertown for many years, working out of the couple's home at 1103 Salina St.  Mr. Pete was employed by The Watertown Daily Times as a linotype operator and later as a compositor, retiring in September 1981.  He died Feb. 13, 1984, in Daytona Beach, Fla., at the age of 67.  Mrs. Pete was a communicant of Prince of Peace Church, Ormond Beach.  She was also a former communicant of Holy Family Church, Watertown, and past member of the Water town Golf Club.
