Obituary: The Daily Advertiser (Lafayette, LA), Wednesday, 21 April 1993: Paul Pitt. Funeral services were held Friday, April 16, 1993 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Paul Pitt, 79, who died Wednesday, April 14, 1993 at 6:15 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center. Interment was in the Sts. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery. The Rev. Frederick O. Swenson, pastor, Sts. Peter and Paul Church, was the celebrant of the funeral Mass and conducted the services. Tony Broussard, organist, sang for the funeral services, "Amazing Grace," "Psalm 5," "Always Be A Child," "Love Held Him To A Cross" and "How Great Thou Art." Survivors include: his wife, the former Hazel Broussard of Scott; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas 'Willine' Mohar of Gauthier, Miss; two sons, Anthony Ronald Pitt and Donald Joseph Pitt, both of Scott; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Johnny Pitt, Ulinor Pitt, Jr. and Anthony Pitt, all of Scott. He was preceded in death by: his parents; one son, Neil Pitt; and two brothers, Camille and Benoit Pitt. A native of Bayou St. Clair and a resident of Scott all of his life, Mr. Pitt was the son of the late Ulinor Pitt Sr. and the former Louisianise Domingue, both natives of Bayou St. Clair. He was employed with the Lafayette Parish Police Jury with 12 years of service and then retired from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department in the Bailiff's Division with 12 years of service. Mr. Pitt was a member of the Holy Name Society in Scott. Pallbearers were: Johnny Pitt, Anthony Pitt, Ulinor Pitt, Blaine Pitt, Paul Neil Pitt and Donald J. Pitt. Martin and Castille Funeral Home in Scott was in charge of arrangements.

Burial followed in the church cemetery under direction of Martin & Castille Funeral Home. She died Sunday at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Before her retirement, Pitt worked as a clerk in the central supply office at Lafayette Charity Hospital, now known as University Medical Center.

Pitt was employed as a brakeman and conductor by the Southern Pacific Transportation Company, and had been with the company for 16 years. A lifelong resident of Scott and a graduate of Scott High School, Pitt was a member of the Transportation Union Local 336 and the Lafayette National Guard. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his widow, Dolores Spell Pitt of Scott; one daughter, Day Dymphna Pitt of Scott; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pitt of Scott; two brothers, Ronald Anthony Pitt of Scott and Donald Joseph Pitt of Breaux Bridge; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Mohar of Gautier, Miss.; his paternal grandfather, Ulinor Piett of Scott, and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mentor Broussard of Duson. A rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. tonight by the Scott High School Class of 1955. Martin and Castille Funeral Home of Scott is in charge of arrangements.

Anthony Ronald Pitt: Anthony Ronald Pitt, 65, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge. A native and lifelong resident of Scott, Louisiana, Mr. Pitt was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church Community. Mr. Pitt enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his former wife, and mother of his children, Shirley Abadie of Breaux Bridge; two daughters Melissa Babineaux and her husband, Chad of Youngsville, and Denise Mouton and her husband, Darren of Breaux Bridge; one son, Blaine Pitt and his wife, Kristy of Maurice; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Gracie and Ellie Babineaux, Dylan and Cole Mouton, Marissa Stoute, and Matthew Pitt; and one sister Willine Mohart of Pascagoula, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Pitt and Hazel Broussard Pitt; and two brothers Donald Pitt and Neil Pitt. Donations may be made in Mr. Pitt's name to Hospice of Acadiana.
