Helen Ruth Peters:  Sun Journal (Lewiston, ME), Monday, 13 August 2001:  (photo) Lewiston - Helen R. Banks, 82, formerly of 74 Summer Street, Lewiston, died Saturday at the Russell Park Manor, where she had been a resident for the past four years.  Born in Boston, Mass., on May 23, 1919, she was the daughter of Pierre and Bridget Walsh Peters.  Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, class of '37.  On June 7, 1941, she was married to George T. Banks, who passed away in 1987.  She was employed for many years by the Bates Manufacturing Company.  A member of St. Joseph's Church, she enjoyed attending plays, playing beano, and going shopping.  A very loving and warm person, she will be sadly missed by her family and friends.  Survivors include: a son, Thomas of Lewiston; a daughter, Sharon and husband Dale Dawley of Lewiston; a daughter-in-law, Linda Johnson Banks of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Cynthia Perry, Lisa Gauthier, Stephanie Beaucage, Alyson Banks, and Erin Dawley; and two great-grandchildren, Travis Perry and Katy Sue Gauthier.  She was predeceased by a son, John, who died in February of 2000.
