Notes for Octave Pitre:

Census

- 1881 PEI, Lot 22 Anderson Creek:  Widow Mary Pitre 46, Euphemia 20, Mary 18, Maurine (Marin) 15.

- 1890 Lot 22, Hope River: p. 32 - Veuve Octave Pitre 55 farmer, Marie 27, Marin 24.

- 1891: missing lots

- 1931 PEI: Queens, Charlottetown, East Royalty:  Morin Peters 66 inmate/infirmary.

The card of Lot 22 going back to 1863 shows that the family was established on 75 acres between the path Saint Mary's and the path Saint Patrick's, to the south of a path known today under the name of Myers Road. The neighbouring grounds belonged to the brothers of Octave, that is to say Gilbert and Maurice, and his brother-in-law Victor Gallant. The Meacham Atlas of 1880 shows that this ground belonged to Mrs. Octavus Peters; Octave has then died before 1880.  The diocese census of 1890 indicates that Marie, aged 55 years, is living at Hope River with her daughter Marie and her son Marin.

MISC:  Given the ages of the children and their mother's age (only 31 in 1865), Octave probably died in the late 1860's.
