Obituary: The Gazette (Montreal), Friday, 1 October 1920: The body of Narcisse Pitre, 87 years of age, of 104 William David street, who died at the Notre Dame Hospital early yesterday morning, was taken to the morgue yesterday. The victim died of injuries suffered in an automobile accident on September 2. Pitre was twenty-seven days in the hospital after the accident before he died. He had suffered a fractured right leg and internal injuries. It was at first thought that his condition was not serious, but his age told against him, blood poisoning setting in and causing his death. According to the information secured by the police of the Maisonneuve station at the time of the accident, Pitre was crossing Morgan Boulevard, between Adam and Lafontaine streets, when he was knocked down by an automobile, which was going south on Morgan Boulevard. The driver of the automobile, who gave his name as Charles Pion, of 273 Stadacona street, stopped and picked up the victim. He later summoned the ambulance and had Pitre removed to the hospital. The inquest will be held today.
