Obituary:  Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), 10 August 2016:  Ville Platte - A memorial service for Maurice Pitre will be held on August 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of all Saints Catholic Church in Ville Platte.  Pitre, 88, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016.  He is survived by his four children, Chris Pitre and wife Hedy of Eunice, Carmen Moran of Miami, Florida, Steve Pitre and wife Cindy of Lake Charles and Liz Pitre of Ville Platte.  He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Pitre was a proud veteran of the United States Army.  He worked many years at the Pitre Ford Co. in Ville Platte, owned and operated Maurice Pitre Auto Sales in Eunice and Maurice Pitre RV Sales in Ville Platte.  Before retiring in the auto and RV business, he was awarded membership in Ford Motor Company's Society of Professional Sales Managers in 1975.  In his leisure time, Maurice loved to hunt, fish and tend to his cattle.  He truly loved his family and friends and always enjoyed meeting new people.  He is proceeded in death by his wife Mary Fontenot Pitre, son, Carlos Pitre and his brother, Elin Pitre.  Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Obituary:  The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Thursday, 14 Aug 2008:  Mary Mae Fontenot Pitre, 79, of Ville Platte, passed away peacefully at her residence Friday, August 8, 2008.  She was an exceptionally loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Survivors include her husband, Maurice Pitre of Ville Platte; four children, Chris Pitre and his wife, Hedy, of Eunice, Carmen Moran of Miami, Florida, Steve Pitre and his wife, Cindy, of Lake Charles and Liz Pitre of Ville Platte; five siblings, Herman "Boy" Fontenot of Scott, Dick Fontenot and Ann Lafleur, both of Ville Platte, Robley Fontenot of Dallas, Texas, and Mona Moran of Port Barre; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one son, Carlos Pitre.

Chris Pitre:  Ardoin Funeral Home (Eunice, LA):  Eunice - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Chris Pitre announces his passing on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 74.  A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice.  Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Deacon Chuck Ortego officiating.  Chris was well known for his dry humor, and in his younger years played a trumpet in a band and was a pilot.  He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his wife of 52 years, Hedy Fontenot Pitre of Eunice; his daughters, Chrisanna Fontenot and husband, Todd, Jennifer Ortego and husband, Channon, all of Ville Platte, and Elizabeth LaFleur and husband, Shane of Eunice; brother, Steve Pitre and wife, Cindy of Moss Bluff; sisters, Carmen Moran of Key Biscayne, FL, and Liz Pitre of Ville Platte; and nine grandchildren, Zachary Arnold, Phillip Arnold, Morgan Arnold, Alexander Ortego, Hayden LaFleur, John Luke LaFleur, Haley LaFleur, Landon Fontenot, and Morgan Fontenot; as well as extended family and friends.  The family would also like to especially thank Dr. Chris Fontenot and the rest of the Heart of Hospice staff for their care, kindness, and compassion shown to Chris and his family.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Mary Fontenot Pitre; and brother, Carlos Pitre.  At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, April 14th from 9:00 am until time of services.  Ardoin's Funeral Home of Eunice is in charge of arrangements.

 

Carlos Maurice Pitre:  The Ville Platte Gazette (Ville Platte, LA), Thursday, 9 November 1972:  Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Carlisss Pitre, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Pitre, who died at 3:40 p.m. Monday at his residence following a long illness.   Interment was in Evangeline Memorial Park with arrangements directed by Ardoin's Funeral Home.  He is survived by his parents; two brothers, Steve and Chris Pitre; two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Pitre of Ville Platte and Mrs. Ernesto Moran of Lima, Peru; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ferdinand Ardoin; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Inis "T-I" Fontenot, all of Ville Platte.
