Obituary:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Thursday, 25 June 2009:  Murville Joseph Pitre, 82, a native of Assumption Parish, La., and a resident of Chackbay, La., died Wednesday, June 24, at 8:20 a.m.  He is survived by his sons, Preston Pitre and Timothy Pitre; daughters, Maedain Roger, Regina Kliebert, Karen Sanchez and Cecile Chiasson; brother, Leander Pitre; sister, Marie Andras; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Barrilleaux; second wife, Clodine Templet Pitre; parents, Edgard Pitre and Rita Gros Pitre; sons, Anthony Pitre and Phillip Pitre; daughter, Nona Pitre Hidalgo; brothers, Joe Pitre, John Pitre, Morris Pitre and Edgar Pitre; and sisters, Lucille Hofman, Odela Benoit and Mable Bonvillain.  Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with mass to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.  Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Chackbay, died Feb. 27, 2005.  Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Chackbay.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with burial at the church cemetery.  She is survived by her husband, Murville Pitre; sons, Jelco Templet and Carroll Templet; daughter, Dessie Templet; sister, Lareica Pitre; stepchildren, Maldain P. Roger, Preston Pitre, Timothy Pitre, Regina P. Kliebert, Karen P. Sanchez and Cecile P. Chaisson; grandchildren, Verna Rachal, Elyrin Bonvillian Jr., Leonce Bonvillian, Juanita B. Rome, Allan Templet, Rebecca Falgoust, Wesley, Micheal, Freddie, Rebecca, David, Joey, Carroll Jr. and Terry Templet; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Sylvesta Templet; parents, Lovency and Camilla Gisclair Toups; stepchildren, Nona P. Nona Marie Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA), Monday, 12 July 1999:  A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Schriever for Nona Marie Pitre, 46, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Houma, who died at 4:30 a.m. July 9, 1999.  Visitation will be 10 a.m. until funeral time at the church.  Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. S he was the companion of Juliana Griggs; daughter of Murville Pitre; mother of Nelson J. "Sonny" Hidalgo and Tina H. Guidry; and sister of Preston P., Timothy J., and Phillip N. Pitre, Maedain P. Rogers, Regina P. Kliebert, Karen Sanchez and Cecile Chiasson.  She is also survived by three grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence T. Barrilleaux, and brother, Anthony J. Pitre.  She was Catholic.  She was a shipfitter for Halter Marine in Lockport.  Donations to Juliana Griggs, 130 Lost Bayou Court, Houma are preferred.  Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.

 

Preston Paul Pitre:  It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Preston Paul Pitre (Schriever, Louisiana), born in Thibodaux, Louisiana, who passed away on July 23, 2019, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Murville Pitre and Florence Barrilleaux; and his siblings, Maedain P. Roger, Nona P. Hidalgo, Timothy J. Pitre, Phillip N. Pitre and Anthony J. Pitre.  He is survived by: his pet Charlie; his former wife Judy Pitre; his sisters, Karen P. Sanchez (Chester), Cecile P. Chiasson (Ricky) and Regina P. Kliebert; and his siblings-in-law, Juliette Pitre, Nelson Hidalgo Sr. and Donovan Roger.  He is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.

 

Timothy J. Pitre:  Lafourche Daily Comet (LA):  Timothy "Dog" Pitre, 59, a native of Thibodaux and a resident of Houma, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014.  He was born on April 4, 1955.  A visitation will be held in his honor on Thursday, October 02, 2014 at Thibodaux Funeral Home from 8:30 AM until the religious service at 11:00 AM.  The burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Gray, LA.  He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Juliette Rouge Pitre; step children, Dawn C. Rogers and husband Quinn, Michael Cortez and fiance Jessica Boudreaux, and Jean Cortez and wife Heidi; siblings, Preston Pitre, Regina P. Kliebert and husband Owen, Karen P. Sanchez and husband Chester, and Cecile P. Chiasson and husband Rickey; 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Murville Pitre and Florence Barrilleaux; siblings, Maedain P. Roger, Nona P. Hidalgo, Philip and Anthony Pitre; and step-daughter, Cherise Bourg.  He was employed in the past by; B. F. Pitre, son of Merville Pitre and Florence Barrilleaux Pitre; brother of Mae Dain, Nona Marie, Preston, Timothy, Philip, Regina, Karen and Cecile Pitre; grandson of Corinne Barrilleaux Lapeyrouse and the late Marcellan Barrilleaux and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar L. Pitre, age 9 years.  Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral.  Services from Landry's Funeral Home, Thibodaux, La., on Saturday, May 6, 1967, at 10 o'clock a.m., followed by Requiem High Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Thibodaux, La.  Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation this Friday, May 5, 1967, 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 1967, 7 a.m. until funeral time.

- Morning Advocate (Baton Rouge, LA), Saturday, 6 May 1967:  Mishaps take 5 lives:  (excerpt)  In Franklin, young Pitre died of injuries suffered when he was hit by a man preparing to throw a baseball during a firemen's fair.  The boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Merville T. Pitre, was standing near the baseball-throwing booth last Saturday when a man reached back to throw a ball.  He accidentally hit the child with either his hand or the ball before the ball was released.  The boy suffered a concussion and had been confined to a hospital since the mishap.
