Obituary:  The Northern Light (NB), 2 June 1927:  Lange Pitre died June 1, 1927, aged 79.  15 years ago came from Campbellton to Bathurst where he has lived for more than 30 years, first in Ste-Therese and then on Main Street, manager and owner of the Payne Hotel.  Seven years ago moved to South Bathurst and opened a general store.  Last year appointed postmaster in Bathurst South.  Leaves a wife, a daughter Mrs. Art Lavigne of South Bathurst and a sister Mrs. Georges Simmons of Connecticut.  Funeral at the cathedral.

Obituaries for the children:

Laura Florence Pitre:  The Northern Light (NB), 2 March 1944:  Arthur Lavigne (Mrs.) of Bathurst South, died February 27, 1944 at age 58, daughter of Lange Pitre, several years postmaster in Bathurst South until three years passed.  A daughter Mrs. Romain White of Bathurst.
